Try to get ahold of a nurse or your results it's in your chart but no one wants to call you back and tell you what the outcome was so I've been waiting days to hear back and you can't even get transferred to dermatology

I was supposed to be contacted by community outreach and i havent heard a word from them. No messages nothing. So i tried to contact patient relations and nobody answered the phone. I think there are some people around there that don't take their jobs seriously and are just there for a paycheck.

This Essentia Clinic in Virginia, MN is an absolute joke. 1st off they had no active receptionists to check you in. They have you check in on a computer which became a problem for me and others. They had one person walking between computers helping people. Then directed me to an area that had to ladies that are able to check people in. The check in had me locked out because some staff in the building was logged into my files. They were not able to get me checked in and I had to give verbal consent before they sent me to where I needed to be. It reminded me of doing self check out at Walmart. Do not like this system at all. I will make sure I do not have to come back here again. Other than that the person I had to see what great.

For an understaffed clinic they get things done well. They've never screwed up my lab work or appointments but I sat with a check in employee for 20 minutes as they attempted to update my insurance info before my appointment. 4 days later I got a bill and they billed me directly because the person helping me didn't bill my insurance or update my account.
She was in a separate office than the check in desk and waved me over because of the wait. I would have rather waited 5 minutes with someone who actually knew what they were doing than waste 20 minutes of my time just to spend another 15 minutes on the phone later to update my insurance with customer service.

Gave my son a shot I did not authorize after MULTIPLE times asking to clarify if it was right one. The nurse said yes, even looked in his chart and said this one was given to him last time. I looked at his after visit summary and it was not the one he had gotten previously. Even the doctor wrote on a piece of paper to tell the nurse I only wanted a specific shot for my son and she completely ignored it. Do better essentia.
Update: It has been over a month since they wanted me to reach out and help solve my issue. It's been radio silence. I finally just messaged my son's doctor directly, how ridiculous.

Id be willing to change it to a higher number if future experiences are better. but i finally worked the courage up to seek out a primary care physician for my compounding health issues. Only for them to get dismissed instantly, like i barely brought up the fact that I had adhd and she instantly jumped to the assumption I was just there for Adderall and that it won't help. I didn't ask for any drugs, I said I wanted help navigating my adhd. I was cut off severel times and really felt like it was a bit of a dismissal. She kept asking if my concerns were from the internet. Like she wanted me to say yes so she could dismiss them. I had three concerns I only left with 1 of those concerns addressed. Btw I guess if you have any mental health problems in Virginia they aren't willing to take care of you because there's not enough people in that department I guess. Honestly I don't even know if its the doctor. Could just be how they train em. Either way I saw a 3rd worst hospital in Minnesota post and it's looking to be the case.
Acknowledge it and tell us you're gonna work on being better don't really need excuses.

As someone who has multiple health issues & prescriptions, it's nice that the Essentia system is fully connected so my records are available regardless of which building or specialty I am seeing. Prescription information is also available at multiple locations if you aren't near your local pharmacy. I have had interaction with many doctors, physician assistants, nurse practitioners, nurses, physical therapists, pharmacists & other staff at multiple locations & they are quite helpful & engaged in my health needs. I have been a patient for years. It's a good clinic/hospital system for our region with many locations, so if they can't take care of an issue here, There's other options within about an hour drive. I definitely recommend the Essential Health system.
