I wasn't real impressed. The week of, I was told the doctor wanted to leave work early and they forced me to reschedule. The busy season at my job is right around the corner, so I really wanted to get it over with the same day. They misgendered me on the text. Check-in was probably my most normal experience. I have NEVER felt comfortable at an optometrist office before, and I felt like I was getting judgement from the fact I forgot to clean my glasses, not knowing that the panel was rubber instead of glass and the fact I have put off visits for years because my former optometrist traumatized me with numbing eye drops and that stupid glaucoma checking machine. Then, because everyone else was sitting within the sightline of the hallway, I had to sit on the opposite side of the interior lobby just to be called "mister" from down the hall without her being able to tell just by looking at me that I'm obviously NOT A MISTER. Usually after an exam, I tend to have questions, but I got shooed off like I didn't even matter. Then I go to pick out new frames. It is my FIRST TIME there, and the person at the desk was on the phone almost the whole time I was browsing. I'm so used to the sections being separated on different walls. I had no way of knowing which section was what. Most of the frames accommodated big lenses that I don't need cause if something is that low in my vision line, I can see it just fine. I prefer narrow lenses. There was not very many to choose from. Then when she finally hangs up the phone, she starts judging the pair that I've been using for almost a decade (that have been bent, had screws replaced and been slept in). I haven't felt this dehumanized since I've been to the gynecologist. Please do better! The only thing I can appreciate is that air blowing machine being the biggest improvement from my last optometrist. My glasses have now finally came in, and they ordered me the wrong color frames! They're brown! I requested grey! This really drives the nail in the coffin on how they do not value me as a person.

My whole family loves Dr Gilich and we feel like family when we go. She is very professional and takes her time to make sure everything is just right. When you have an emergency she gets you in and helps you any way she can. She deeply cares about her patients and it shows. I highly recommend her! The BEST!

Dr. Gilich has been my eye doctor for many years now. She helps me keep my glaucoma and general vision under control. I love the staff! They are awesome and amazing people. Thank you for all you do!

I wished I found her beforehand but still very grateful she took good care of me and is one of the extraordinary caregivings on the Coast. Thank you for taking care of me.

I saw Dr Johneen Gilich in Sept 2024, the front desk, the first eye test---Horrible employee manners-very cold, not welcoming at all. ( I was a NEW pt ) went to sit in another waiting room-seen Dr she was so quick on wanting me to tell her what was clearer A or B, that my eyes didn't have time to focus. She was literally in there maybe 5-7MIN max during my first visit ever to see her. She kept my prescription the same-that's fine my vision hasn't changed. UNTIL, I got my glasses and I can NOT SEE OUT OF THEM AT ALL, expressed that-Dr checked my eyes again-changed my prescription again had to wait another 3 almost 4 weeks to get them they are worse than they was before-They did offer to do far vision in my glasses for the 3rd change-but literally wasted my insurance benefits "trying different prescriptions". NO THANKS! I only came here because of Mrs Ann - was such a sweet lady helping with my glasses. But this year I went back to my eye dr because she was in network, WOW Joheen, messed my eyes up bad with my glasses because she told me I didn't give enough time for my eyes to adjust to progressive glasses, uhm excuse me, I have been wearing progressive glasses since 2022 and loved them! (They were my first pair) I will not use them ever again for anything. I wish Mrs Ann the best but I will continue to go to my eye specialist back home because she cares more about the patient instead of timing.

I have NEVER received better care, kindness and professionalism! Not only is Dr. Gilich a great doctor, she is a kind and gentle person that made me feel comfortable and most welcome. The staff is the same way. Incredible gem of a find for me and my family! You won't be disappointed.

Best in the business!!!! Love the staff here! ANNE IS THE SWEETEST, she helped order and REORDER my contacts twice and is patient and kind! My biggest frustration at most doctor appointments is the wait time, even though you made an appointment WELL in advance. But this office REPSECTS your time and I love that! I got contacts for the very first time and the process was easy and actually FUN! Very knowledgeable staff and made the process a breeze!

Dr. Gilich and the entire staff were very friendly, professional, knowledgeable and helpful. Dr. Gilich took time to hear my concerns and recommend easy solutions. 12/10 service. I would highly recommend Edgewater Eye.
