Jackson Eye Associates

I am new to Madison from Pittsburgh Pa. This past summer I had lenses replaced in Philadelphia at Wills Eye hospital. From Pittsburgh to Philly was a 41/2 hr drive but from Madison the flight was overnight. So I needed an ophthalmologist locally for follow-up. I searched all the opthamologist in Jackson and settled on Dr Kosko. His Training at UAB in lens exchanges, cataract surgery and glaucoma was top notch. I met with Dr Kosko this past week and he gave me a more thorough exam than the prestigious Wills Eye Hospital in Philly. I am glad I met and picked him as he was very knowledgeable but very personable. We have a follow up plan set in motion and I'm very please with my appointment with him. Would highly recommend him!

My husband does not compliment anyone frequently but he said Dr. McGuffey should be teaching others doctors how to communicate with patients. My husband Mike loved him. He then asked me if he Dr. McGuffey was going to be his regular eye doctor. I had to explain no he was a specialist. I am here to say if you need an eye doctor in the Madison area ask for Dr. McGuffey. You will be well pleased.

This was my first visit at eye Associates and I was greeted with care and the dr. I seen was quick I was in & out within 35 mins but what didn't sit well With me was the payment my copay was originally 30 due to my insurance deductible but being that I paid with my card and not cash I was charged an additional 3% which came out to be 82.40 which is insane so 52.40 of my money went towards some with no benefit to me lol please find yall somewhere else to go just like yall work hard for your money we as people so as well do better with explaining what all patients need before arrival and don't let them find out the hard way like me I will not be returning .

It's a shame I have to write this review. Dr. Phillips sees her patients on time. She is the best. She gets 10 stars! Waiting two hours for Dr. McVey to take stitches out is ridiculous and uncalled for. Staff needs to be trained not to ignore patients in the waiting area. When I checked in someone could have told me to come back later . A call to my home would have been nice. Wasting MY time is a reason for ONE STAR.

Oh my goodness! I cannot say enough good things about this place! Dr, Adah and her assistant, Kameron, are the best! I highly recommend them because they will always take excellent care of you!

I must share my amazing experience while receiving cataract surgery on 8/26/25 at JEA, lead by Dr. Taylor Smith, M.D. The service was outstanding, quality and very compassionate genuine care, conducted by his entire medical team, even the transporters. Which help calmed my anxiety. Honestly, this TEAM! was the best I've ever experienced. My thanks to Dr. Atkinson for his referral.

I've been a patient at JEA for several years now. Dr. Phillips is my ophthalmologist. I didn't mind too much to drive down to their old Jackson location on State Street. But the new Madison building is not only closer to my home but right in the mix for my Healthplex, dentist, church, and Home Depot. Dr. Phillips treats my inter-ocular eye pressure with care and education. I really like that! A lot of trust there. The building is superb as are each and every staff member I come in contact with. I also get my glasses built at the optical store there, too. I like that they don't mind that I purchase my frames from a California vendor, Allyn Scura. I've bought classic horn rim frame...the same model that Gregory Peck wore in in To Kill a Mockingbird. Just a style I've worn for 15 years now. I get the top Crizal lens package which they gladly produce for me. I can't say enough good things about JEA, the staff and physicians (my wife is a patient there too), and the new building. Easy parking, access to I-55 if o need it, and they handle my insurance processing.

Both of our children are patients of Dr. McVey and orthoptist, Kevin Williamson. We love them both - excellent bedside manner and providers. We've also had a stellar experiences with office staff, Tempia, surgery scheduler, and Angie, insurance & billing rep. Both are kind, helpful, and responsive. I desperately wish this facility offered a user friendly patient portal, most especially considering the vast services they provide.
