JEA Optical

I have been going to JEA for my whole life. I love the JEA optical shop, the staff are so professional. The level of attention and care they have given me over the years is outstanding.

JEA has a really nice clinic and the services were really good today. I was in and out within an hour. I like that not that want them to rush but I did not have down time. Thanks you for your help today.

BE AWARE that the Optical only except CERTAIN Eye med policies. I was NOT informed that until I picked up my daughters glasses (1 pair) which was $500 and was informed that I would need to contact Eye Med or my husband's work to get the credit since we were "out of network". Please make sure you ask and understand which policies they take since JEA only except certain policies from certain companies. Will NOT be going back.

Google directions is off once you get here. It tells you to turn left when you actually turn right. Then left into the parking lot. Jea staff should tell patient eye surgery is at the back of the buildings instead of direction you to the side.

I'm writing this review in observation of JEA's optical center supplying glasses and contacts. I'm not certain if it's the times we're now in, but I have been here 5 minutes and not even a greeting. I understand being previously occupied, however greeting fellow patients should be automatic . This is unacceptable and also a bad look. Moral of the story: Greet those that service you no matter who it may be.

In "how to lose a customer in 20 seconds" today, I am in need of new eyeglasses. Saw an optical shop associated with the ophthalmologist's office I'd just left for an eye infection (not my normal op doc nor city). Decided to look in through the window, first. Walked in (masked up & onion glasses on). Saw a pair I liked and asked did they come in any other color. The young lady who worked there, first asked did I have a script. I said, "Yes, on my phone." She says, "Well, we kinda need you to print it out, first." In my mind "Before what? Looking at frames?" I said, "When I am ready to finalize my frame purchase, I'm more than happy to print it out then." I asked, again, about alternate colors. She said, "Well, when you bring back your printed script, I can look for alternate colors." Wait, what? Let me get this straight, instead of OFFERING to email/air print it, you want me to go somewhere to print this out, THEN you'll look up whether alternate colors are offered on some frames? I get it. I didn't have a PRINTED script, but that does not stop a person from looking for alternate frame colors. I will be taking my effort, $$ and business, elsewhere. I need businesses to do better. This was a customer service FAIL and lost business because I am READY and NEED to purchase new frames (like two months ago.. I keep gorilla glue on me with my current frames.. don't ask). I need businesses to train their people better.

Dr. Whittington has treated me and my family. I highly recommend JEA Optical. I love my Kate Spade frames that Stephanie Sims me pick out. Everyone is so nice and helpful. They always are there for me when I need to get new contacts.

Staff spends ample time with patients. Phone calls are returned same day. JEA ophthalmologist Dr. Phil Smith is friendly, outgoing, caring, respectful, and a skilled surgeon who specializes in cataracts and lasik. I can't brag about him enough! Optical shop and JEA physicians are located on the same floor. Botox available and highly recommended for those who suffer from migraines and is covered by medical insurance if given for migraines
