Mississippi Eye Consultants - Oxford, MS

I paid $170 for the eval in August. Was told at check out "we are moving facilities so I can't schedule your surgery right now, but we will call you in a couple weeks to schedule it". By October I still had not been called so I called to check in and was told I had an appointment scheduled end of October. I told her I would be out of town and would prefer an appointment closer to the end of the year. She said no problem and she would call me back closer to the end of the year to schedule the surgery. No one ever called again. I had my annual check up with my optometrist and mentioned this to him so he reached out to their office. They called me and told me that because my eval was last year, I would have to pay another $170 for another eval. So basically I'm supposed to pay for another eval because they failed to call me and reschedule my surgery like they told me they would.

Yes I had appointment with them on yesterday my appointment was 3:00 but I made it up there early and they call me to the back those employees was so friendly and nice. I went to to see Dr.Shipp

Had my first and last eye exam with Dr. Shipp today at 8 am. I arrived for my appointment at 7:50. There was 5 other people already in the lobby. All tests and procedures were preformed by a lady who appeared to be very stressed. I then waited in the exam room for well over and hour. At 9:30 am Dr. Shipp finally came into the room and stated my prescription was unchanged and everything seemed normal. I then asked him if the other individual who did everything was also an eye doctor and he stated she was an eye technician. He also said that she does most if not all of the eye exams and he only reviews her work. He became offended by my question and apologized for my displeasure while making the snide remark that "I likely would be unhappy with anything he had to say anyways." He redid the eye prescription portion of exam partly due to my request. He then said your prescription is slightly changed but not very much. I am totally shocked by the arrogance of Dr. Shipp and his lack of involvement of the care for his patients. I have never in my life had an eye appointment where the eye doctor didn't perform the eye prescription exam portion. If you want a doctor who will be actually involved in your care do NOT come here. I am baffled by the over booking of patients, wait times, and lack of care for patients here in this office. Not to mention he didn't bother to fit me for contacts which I needed and will gladly go elsewhere to have it completed properly.

I have no idea how these guys don't have countless five star reviews- the staff is amazingly kind and takes time to answer all your questions... no matter how many times you call per day to bug them. Last year I injured my eye and ended up with a scar that made wearing contacts unbearable. With a lifestyle spent outdoors 75% of the time in all sorts of weather, glasses were a pain to wear. My optometrist reccomended dr. Shipp to me for corrective eye surgery and I can't say enough how amazing it is to see! The surgery was scary but not painful and I sat up able to see! My vision eventually fogged as the healing process began, but I can see well enough to drive and type after less than 24hrs. If you're considering the surgery I HIGHLY reccomend doctor Shipp! Thankyou so much to Dr. Shipp and staff for making a monumental difference in my life!

They do not know the meaning of on time. They think making a patient wait well over an hour is normal. Don't go there. They don't need your business.

These are the nicest people to work with. Getting my left eye in a couple of weeks and cannot wait. Thank you Dr. Shipp. I can see !! HOTTY TODDY.
