My visits with Dr Brown and his staff have always been very personable and professional at the same time. Dr Brown explained the procedure I was due to have, and he carried it through with success. I am happy to say I can see better than I have in years! Thank you Dr Brown and also thank you to your staff.

Subject: Concern Regarding Refund Process
I have been a patient at Eye & Laser Center for over 20 years and, have consistently experienced excellent care and professionalism from both the doctors and staff, until recently. I want to be clear that this concern does not diminish the outstanding medical care provided by the physicians at the center.
On February 13, 2026, I had a scheduled appointment. As is customary at your facility, payment is required prior to services being rendered. At check-in, I was informed that I had a credit on my account and was asked whether I would like to apply it. I asked how much the credit was, and the receptionist stated that she was new and did not know the amount. When I asked how she knew there was a credit if she did not know the amount, she offered to call someone else to assist.
Another staff member came over and began explaining what a credit is. I clarified that I understood what a credit was; my question was regarding the specific amount. She then provided the amount, and I requested that the credit be refunded to me. I was told that she would need to speak with the office manager, who was in a meeting at the time. It was after 3:00 p.m. on a Friday. I was then informed that the doctor sign checks on Fridays, but that he had already left for the day.
To resolve the matter, I requested that the charges for that day's services be applied to the existing credit and that the remaining balance be refunded to me the following Friday. On Thursday, February 19, 2026, I sent a message advising the office that instead of mailing the refund in which I was told on 2/13/26, that they would do, I would pick it up in person.
I subsequently received a call stating that she was unaware of any plan to mail a refund and that I would not be able to receive it until the following Friday, February 27, 2026. At this point, the office had been holding my funds for over six months without my knowledge. When I expressed this concern, I was told that patients must specify how they would like their refund processed, but if you are unaware, how can you let them know. I also offered to come to the office, pay for the February 13 services directly, and collect my refund at that time, but I was told that I had to pay that day and again told I would need to wait until the following Friday. When I ask why I cannot receive my funds when services are paid. I was then informed that I would now need to wait until the claim clears before any refund could be issued.
My concern is with the inconsistency in policy. Patients are required to pay upfront before receiving services; however, when a refund is due, the process appears delayed and complicated. I respectfully ask for clarification regarding your refund policy and consideration of a more timely and transparent process.
I value the long-standing relationship I have had with your practice and hope this matter can be resolved promptly and professionally.
I had an eye emergency and they worked me in that day with very limited wait time. I was in and out in less than an hour. Everyone was so nice and helpful.
My mom was treated so well the staff was really helpful my mom is confined to a wheelchair from a stroke in 2011 my father was also a patient of dr.brown until his passing in 2022 I would recommend dr.brown and his staff any day of the week, months, years, and my mom was really impressed with everything
I was kinda scared at first because they had a trainee seeing about me and she was kinda skeptical and the person that was training her kept leaving her by herself but she managed to get everything done. The Dr came in and was very attentive and talked and let me ask question. I had a great experience my first visit,
I was given the task of picking out my glasses that I wanted. Two ladies helped me because they knew the number of the frame I needed. They picked out a few in that number and I chose the one that pleased me. It didn't take as long as I thought it would take. I was used to another lady helping me , but I guess she no longer work there are she just wasn't there that day.
I've been using Dr. James Brown for several years. They are wonderful. Kind and Dr. Brown is amazing he knows exactly how to treat a patient and does an excellent job! He knows exactly what he's doing and how to fix it. Love him and his staff abundantly! They are Great! I always recommend other people to them!
