Eyecare Specialties - Belton (Innovative Vision Care)

I am giving this 3 stars because I believe the issue I had was a single person, not the establishment itself, however I can't ignore that the training should've been done with the singular person. I went for a regular eye exam. When scheduling I was told that I didn't have to do the eye photo if I didn't want to pay for it, it wasn't required. That was a lie and they charge you $50 to do it. I will say the Dr waived the fee for me on that this one time. The woman who took me in for the pre exam improperly took my blood pressure, as I had just rushed out of the bathroom and you're supposed to be resting for 5 minutes. When I pointed that out she ignored me and moved to the next thing, which was the 'replacement for the air puff'. It was a handheld device and I had never seen it. She didn't explain what it was going to do, just kept saying it replaced the air puff machine. My eye wouldn't stay open for it because I was anticipating the unknown and at this time she showed frustration with me for it. When I asked what it's supposed to do she said only that it was going to tickle my eye lashes, and without my consent moved towards me again with it. This happened 3 or 4 times before I moved her hand away and said I couldn't do it. I had already been stating I didn't think I could and she just kept moving towards me with it. She finally gave up and then rudely asked me if I could do the other machines. I said I could, we did the machine that adjusts your focus in and out and then that's when she tried to tell me it's mandatory that I do the eye photo machine--the one I said I couldn't afford for this visit. I just needed new glasses. I explained that she was rushing through the pre-exam and that she wasn't allowing for consent for what she was about to do to me to the doctor and he thanked me for the feedback. Everyone else there was pleasant. But that being my first time here and that situation causing unnecessary anxiety really set the day up in a weird way for me. I think it isn't too much to ask to be kind to your patients and to foster an environment of mutual consent and share information with the patients. If the doctor and the woman who helped me pick glasses hadn't been so very nice, this would be a 1 star.

I have been a patient here for years. My appointment was canceled due to the doctor being ill, which is very understandable. The lady at the front desk called to Inform me of the Cancellation did not even take the time to pronounce my name correctly. She was very rude and disrespectful. No accommodations to try to get me in at my earliest convenience. I've had this appointment for quite some time for myself and my child.

Staff was friendly. Thanks for getting me in quickly for a IOP check! I saw Dr Law he went over my previous exam notes and discussed how I needed to proceed with my Glaucoma.

I would recommend this place to everyone I know, because the staff really make you welcome and they are very knowledgeable when it comes to your eyes. They will answer all questions that you ask and will give you all the information you need. Thank you for allowing me a last minute appointment and helping with my vision. I can't wait to get my glasses!!!!

Been to many eye care places in my life and up until 10 years ago due to insurance this was my go to place. After seeing many specialists and facilities I can confidently say this the best in the greater Kansas City area. Dr.Law has always been informative and helpful and the rest of the staff are very pleasant and personable. I will not go anywhere else if I can help it.

Very friendly and helpful people at this place. No rush - no pressure as I have run into at other places. All details about what was happening with the eyes were explained. Great help with picking out glasses also. Thanks

5/5 stars. Staff was patient, polite, and professional. Doctor Law was kind and informative. Glasses selection was good with many options across a variety of price points. I will be returning!
