Clarkson Eyecare Lasik Surgery Center

I've been going to Clarkson Eyecare in Rock Hill for over 5 years, and they've always taken great care of me. I've been wearing glasses or contacts since third grade, so I was so ready for a change. One day I told Dr. Leah Matthews I was thinking about getting LASIK once I had enough saved in my HSA, and she immediately mentioned Clarkson has their own LASIK surgery center and could send my records over. Honestly, I was a little hesitant--my experience at Rock Hill had been so good, I didn't think the surgery center could match that level of care. But wow, I was totally wrong! My first consultation at the Clarkson LASIK Surgery Center was amazing. They ran a ton of tests, walked me through every option, and Dr. Hubbard really took the time to explain what would work best for me. The front desk? Incredible. Special shoutout to Krystal--she was so kind and checked in with me every step of the way. And the best part? There was zero pressure to make a decision. It was purely informative and supportive, which made me feel even more confident. Turns out, I wasn't a good candidate for LASIK due to my thin corneas. I had no idea what EVO ICL was, but they explained it all so well. I even got to meet the surgeon, Dr. Thiessen, before moving forward, and he helped calm any nerves I had. Day of surgery came around--it was in St. Charles--and the Clarkson team literally showed up with a goody bag. Like... who does that?! Everything was so organized, I got all my post-op drops, and here I am just over a month later with 20/15 vision. I'm still in shock. I seriously cannot recommend Clarkson Eyecare enough. From Rock Hill to the surgery center, every single person I met made this experience smooth, supportive, and honestly kind of fun. If you're thinking about vision correction--go here. You won't regret it.

The entire team at Clarkson Eyecare was spectacular, but because she strong armed me into mentioning, Rina was in the conversation for the best (you were all great, no fighting). I got PRK here. For those worried about the PRK process - yes, it sucked. I won't lie. The pain at times was great during my recovery. However, once you get past the first 3-4 days of eyes watering, pain, etc., the worst of it is just a general cloudiness. Folks, it is worth it. I went from 20/400 vision to about 20/15 in roughly 75 days time (2.5 months now at my final check-up and with PERFECT VISION). Don't be scared to go through a scary process if it helps in the long run. I woke up the other day able to see my wall clock for the first time without squinting and about bawled my eyes out. Thank you Dr. Hubbard, Dr. Gira (whom performed the surgery), and ALL of the team who assisted. Please know you changed this man's life.

If there were more stars to give , I'd give them all to this office ! Words can't express on the experience I had with this team!! Dr. Hubbard , Dr. Thiessen, Reena, and Crystal and the whole team you guys rock and were so professional. I had the EVO ICL and was the BEST decision ever ! If you have hesitation on refractive surgery PLEASE contact this office , they're very thorough and will recommend what's best for you . I was very nervous during my consultation at the surgery center, mainly because I get serious nerves during any medical discussion/procedure BUT.. the nurses and doctors took the BEST care of me. The entire office was knowledgeable, prepared, and extremely friendly. On the day of the procedure, the nurses & Dr. Thiessen made me feel so comfortable and at ease. The actual procedure was a piece of cake, thanks to the entire staff. I can't get over how awesome it was to be taken care of by them. Crystal was SO good to me that I had to hug her afterwards. I can also see perfectly now :) 11/10 recommend!

The detailed and caring way they answered any questions or concerns I had shows they genuinely care about their patients. I was given very detailed information and instructions from the very first call with them & that made my surgery from start to finish a smooth experience. From the consult with Dr. Hubbard to the surgery with Dr. Jira, my experience of getting Lasik at Clarkson Eyecare was 5 stars end to end. Both doctors, Crystal, the office manager, and Amanda took the best care of me. They all understood the rollercoaster of emotions that comes with making the decision to get Lasik and it was a judgement free zone. They were all transparent and genuine every step of the way and very comforting. In addition to the psychological aspects, the office has a very clean and welcoming environment. I really enjoyed the 90s on 9 that Dr. Jira played during my surgery that lasted 2 songs! I really can't imagine a better experience for a patient and I am truly grateful for my experience. I would recommend Clarkson Lasik in Chesterfield to anyone entertaining this life changing procedure.

Had Lasik surgery this past weekend after waiting years to get it. I'm seeing 20/15 and excited about it. I've worn glasses for over 30 years. The staff was friendly and professional, my surgeon was great and they explained everything to me. So far my follow up appointment was also great. I couldn't wish for a better team of professionals. I will definitely recommend them to others. I'm a happy customer
