Horrible customer service. Doctors are always in a big hurry! They use outpatient services for cateract surgery that are substandard. My most recent experience involved ordering my glasses. Went to the Winghaven location for my visit and the ordered my glasses. Picked out a frame etc. on Dec. 30th. Two weeks later told frames came in broke and they would reorder. Told a week later can't reorder frames because new management says all frames on display must be used first before restock of new choices. It's been three weeks now and no glasses. Told to cone back in to choose another frame and then wait another two weeks. Disgusted! Patients and customers deserve better. By the grace if God, I'm a senior that can drive etc. What about those that rely on others such an inconvenience not to mention complete failure on the part of the new management. They can't refund my money. Didn't these doctors and medical professionals take some type of oath? Stay awake from this practice . Not professional! No office manager to speak to as well to get this resolved! No one cares!

November 21, 2025 - Doctor Farheen Raja is an excellent Ophthalmologist ... just had my left eye cataract surgery on the 19th. She made sure 6 months in advance before surgery that my moderate dry eye was in check and measurements exact for Vivity Toric lens. Very personal and such a caring doctor. I would recommend Doctor Raja to anyone for cataract surgery and exams. Looking forward to my right eye surgery in December. Thank you so much to Dr. Raja and Staff at West County Ophthalmology. I was hesitant because of some reviews I saw on here, but all I can say is OMG! I have never had a nicer experience at an appointment of any kind. The girls here are so uplifting and welcoming, and had me laughing the whole time (especially Courtney)! I have pretty bad anxiety when it comes to doctors but I would (and will) go back here absolutely without a second thought. They also quickly figured out the issues I've had going on for MONTHS with no answers!!

Despite the tremendous knowledge and manners of Dr. Slocum (of whom I first got corrective eyewear forty years ago), I am vastly disappointed with the billing and insurance policy of West County Ophthalmology (WCO). After my years of typical eye exams with a reasonable copay, this year my employer's Cigna plan is not accepted by WCO. No communication, no warning, just a change in policy after years of the same relationship. I would STRONGLY caution future patients to fully investigate the billing policies; this brings an unmistakable end to my relationship with what had been a very positive, professional, and informed partnership. This type of policy change should have resulted in a communication as WCO still accepts Cigna but apparently just decided not my employer's. Medical and insurance billing is shade enough as it is. If I had been a new patient, then this would be my fault. However, a patient of many years who had no change in his insurance policy and knowing that WCO still accepts Cigna gave me absolutely no pause to thin k that I would be "out of network". WATCH OUT!

I started seeing Dr. Sagett about 18 months ago as I was somewhat dissatisfied with my previous doctor. Dr. Sagett is much more vocal about my glaucoma and informative regarding the status of my cataracts. Dr. Raja performed my cataract surgery and I was very impressed by her and her patience and friendly, professional manner. This practice seems to be better managed in general (than my previous physician's office where I waited for about an hour without being seen for my last appointment there) and waiting time/s have not been excessive. I am very pleased with this practice.

Dr. Slocum is incredible! I had an eye emergency, and he was called to the ER to help me on a Saturday morning. I was in incredible pain and distress due to a viral eye issue. He got me on the fast track to recovery. His office got in touch with me for a prompt follow up. The office was clean. The staff was professional. And Dr. Slocum is a true life saver. I could not be more grateful to him. I will be a loyal patient to West County Ophthalmology from here out. I know I can count on them for excellent care in ordinary and extraordinary circumstances.

I went here on June 14th 2024. I read the bad reviews and decided to keep my appointment and see for myself. I officially regret my decision. Where do I start??? I only had to wait about ten minutes before being called back for my appointment. The technician who brought me back to a room did not introduce herself and didn't bother to make eye contact with me until she had to. She was rushing a lot and had poor customer service skills- she dis my eye exam. She went in and out of the room a lot. I asked about Contact lenses and she left the room and was gone for ten to fifteen minutes. One of my biggest complaints is that they left the door open whenever they were not in the room. I could see every patient walking by and they could see me- I did not like this at all. I could hear the technician discussing my visit with someone else in the hallway. A different technician came into my room to go over contact options with me and she was very nice with great customer service. I saw Dr. Raja and she was nice. I asked about the door being left open and she said that they have always left the doors open . Wait! There's MORE! I decided to shop for glasses after my exam. I sat there for about an hour with the lady helping me. When I looked at my name, the front desk spelled my last name WRONG eventhough I gave them my drivers license and insurance card!!!!! How incompetent is this!?!?!?!?! Needless to say, I will NOT be back, and I do not recommend this office.

I was a first time (new) patient today and experienced over an hour wait until I was eventually seen. The front staff was curt and not helpful. NO one, not even Dr. Sagett, apologized for my long wait. When Dr. Sagett finally walked into the exam room, his first words to me were, "How can I help you?" He never introduced himself or mentioned why he had kept me waiting an hour and 10 minutes--no apology, nothing. The office atmosphere was like a factory and I was certainly treated like another number in their disorganized assembly line. I will NEVER be back and I will NEVER recommend West County Ophthalmology. By the way, this is my first google review, but my time to write this is worthwhile to forewarn others of what they will likely experience.
