Mason Eye Clinic-University Hospital

Dr. Valenzuela is the worst Dr. experience I ever had. Nice one minute and turns into something else the next. I even went to patient experience over the false info she put into my medical record. Univ of MO messed up when they hired her. I hope going to patient experience will help others.

I experienced a uveitis flare-up early this morning and was able to call and speak with a nurse who scheduled me for an appointment this afternoon. Everyone I encountered, from check-in (Ellie) to the technician (Samuel E) to the provider, was excellent. I was grateful to be added to the schedule for evaluation; otherwise, I would definitely have ended up in the ER by the weekend. The office was quite busy for a Friday afternoon, but every staff member was friendly, caring, knowledgeable, and professional, including the many nursing students present. I was particularly impressed with Dr. Golla and the medical student, Daniel C, who accompanied him. They were both outstanding; I didn't feel rushed during the appointment and could tell that they genuinely cared about their patients and enjoyed their work. Daniel even assisted me in getting to the lab on his way out to attend a class. The customer service from start to finish was phenomenal. This clinic has a wonderful staff, and most importantly, I left with my eye already feeling much better. I highly recommend this office and Dr. Golla.

One son had appointments rescheduled so many times, I started driving to St.Louis to see. With my other son, his pediatrician recommended he see them due to likely having a medical eye issue. They told me they could only see him if he had a medical issue, not for regular exam. I told them that was fine his doctor had put in a referral and asked to verify if that would count. They said yes, that will work. I scheduled an appointment, and SIX MONTHS LATER when the appointment time was finally around the corner, they called me to say they canceled his appointment due to him not having a medical condition. I told them I had a referral in and the whole point of this appointment was to find out if there was something medical going on with his eyes. They said they still couldn't see him and told me to get a new referral to someplace else. It wouldn't be a big deal if they had told me when I originally made the appointment, but instead they verified that they could and would see him, and I spent 6 months waiting while my kid suffered instead of being able to go someplace else right away. They are extremely disorganized.

My husband went in for an eye exam and paid $60 copay. His eyes were dilated first then given the eye exam. He could barely see to do the eye exam!! Gets his new glasses (not from them) and his vision is worse than with his old glasses. I sent him to a different eye doctor who found 2 different prescriptions were written for him. Had a much better exam at Clarkson. Fast forward he received a bill from physician services for $202 ($354 covered by insurance.) $262 for an eye exam, high but we paid it. THEN we received a bill from the hospital. They billed $311 for "equipment usage" as explained to me by their customer service. Save your money. Go to Clarkson Eyecare, plus Clarkson has much better parking.

Booking an appointment is always multiple months in advance and, incredibly, they don't cover vision insurance. How does an eye clinic not provide services billable to vision? Left me having to pay $143 for a routine eye exam

Don't waste your time setting an appointment with this clinic. You will have to wait over a month tp get in. They will put your appointment time in wrong then try to blame it on you. Once they messed up they won't work with you to get you in, they will push you to the back of the line and make you wait over another month to get you in because of their mistake. Highly recommend saving you time and energy and just contact somewhere else.

Unpleasant on the phone. However, we all have bad days, so I gave them the benefit of the doubt and made an appointment. Had to wait a few weeks to get in, and knew I was going to have to pay out of pocket since my insurance wasn't accepted. Today, out of the blue, I got a voicemail that my appointment was cancelled for no understandable reason. There was no suggestion to call back for more information why I wasn't welcome in the clinic. Basically I was told, "even though we don't take your insurance and you offered to pay out of pocket, we still cannot see you. Goodbye." Appalled at the way this was handled. Will not be going here. Would not recommend to a friend.

This review is for the doctor at Mason eye clinic. The doctors names was Dr. Ayman Suleiman. This Doctor was by far one of the best doctors we've seen in years. Many of the doctors that we have seen on the past, were unable to even tell us what the problem was. However, this Doctor in just one visit, easily was able to figure out what the issue was and prescribe something to help us and cafed enough to schedule a follow-up. very good bed side manner, very respectful and kind, perhaps a slither of hope that there's still good doctors out there that actually care about helping people - not just making money.. I recommend highly.
