The Kirkwood Clarkson is wonderful. The people who work there are knowledgeable and friendly and take the time to discuss any questions you have. I have been going there for about 15 years, and I don't think I would ever change.

Clarkson Eyecare in Kirkwood is a deceptive eye clinic. My husband went in for new glasses and was charged an absolutely absurd amount. When I called to question the charges because they did not align with our vision benefits, Shea, the office manager, admitted that charges had been accidentally left on that should not have been there and actually laughed about it.
She chuckled while explaining the mistake, which made the situation even more infuriating. I cannot imagine how many people are being overcharged on a regular basis if this is happening so casually. This experience was beyond frustrating and completely unacceptable. We will never set foot in a Clarkson Eyecare again.

Left multiple messages with billing and never got a response. My insurance company was billed for a trial pair of contacts which apparently maxed out my benefits. Cost almost $500 out of pocket for exam and 1 year of contacts after insurance. I can't read up close anymore, but who knows what they will charge to fix the prescription since trials cost $150 a pop. Fortunately, this happened in December, and my benefits renewed Jan 1, so hopefully I will have better luck starting over elsewhere.

It's been over two weeks on my order still nothing has arrived. I've checked on the order three times and also called twice today and no return phone call. It's now 3 o'clock and they're closed for the day. I would have appreciated a call back by closing of business.

After 6 months and two remakes, they still couldn't get my eyeglass prescription right for distance, reading, OR computer distance. They ended up convincing me that I needed another $400.00 pair just for computer distance, and those still don't work. So....$1000.00 total later (with insurance!), I still can't see and have painful eye strain. Only gave them one star because Shay TRIED to be helpful, but overall the office is horribly overpriced and underqualified.
