Ideal Eye Surgery

I had an appointment with Dr. Michael Stock for Cataract evaluation in October 2024. The evaluation was very thorough and the office staff was very nice and professional. However, when it came time to presenting me with options & costs, it was a mess. I was told the office gal who normally handles estimates wasn't available so someone else stepped in. And that's when the problem started. She struggled to answer most of my questions and provided me a scribbled estimate mess!! On the estimate form were two columns of scribbled hand entered pricing, but then there were numbers scribbled in the margins of the form. I was told depending my surgery & lens options, I should pick something from one column, add it to other column & something from the scribble in the margins! Seriously??!! As I closely looked at the form I noticed they had reversed my eye exam results! I called the office later to try to get a clarification on all the information and advise them they had swapped my eye exam results so the pricing would be different and they couldn't provide much more. If you're spending a lot of your hard earned money on upgraded lenses, the surgery & lens options and pricing for each should be easy to understand, and that was not the case. Dr. Stock may be a great surgeon, but the office needs to make major improvements; providing clear, easy to understand cost estimates and explaining surgery & lens options better. Needless to say I didn't schedule surgery.

I recently had LASIK surgery with Dr. Evans, and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I've ever made. From the initial consultation to the post-op care, everything was smooth, professional, and even kind of exciting. Dr. Evans was fantastic--calm, confident, and clearly an expert in his field. He made sure I understood the procedure and what to expect, and his bedside manner really helped put me at ease. I also want to give a huge thank you to Adam and Kayla, the scrub techs who assisted during my surgery. They were both incredibly kind, attentive, and reassuring. You could tell they genuinely care about patient comfort and safety. Having them there made me feel like I was in the best hands possible. The procedure itself was over before I knew it--totally painless and so much quicker than I imagined. Within hours, I was already noticing a dramatic improvement in my vision. By the next morning, I woke up and could see clearly without glasses or contacts for the first time in years. If you've been considering LASIK, I highly recommend Dr. Evans and his amazing team, especially Adam and Kayla. They made a life-changing experience feel comfortable and even enjoyable. I'm beyond grateful!

I absolutely love Ideal Eye Care, and grateful to have better vision. I can now drive and read without bi- focals or glasses. I can use 1.25 readers for smaller print Dr. Marlow is adept in her profession, she loves what she does and it shows. The environment is always warm and inviting and staff pleasant and friendly. I highly recommend Ideal Eye Surgery, Whitney Marlow, MD!!! She and her staff are highly trained, professional, competent, knowledgeable, compassionate, and committed to providing each patient with a safe and secure experience. Dr. Marlow performed both my cataract surgeries. The most recent one today (8.16.23) and I am experiencing improved vision within hours of being home. Having worked in Ophthalmology and Optometry for the past 18 years, I am very aware of what to expect post operative. Now I have the first hand experience and knowledge of telling patients we see in our office what to expect both pre and post operative.

I can honestly recommend this place to anyone looking for great health care. From the moment I stepped in the door I was treated like a human being. Smiles on every face, very accommodating, using technology with professionalism. A great feature would be the way they let you know what to expect as you proceed through their exams and results. I was given an iPad with a set of headphones to watch and listen to the entire process of cataracts and how they are removed and replaced. I went in specifically for cataracts because I was losing my vision, I was beginning to feel closed out from society because I could no longer see and distinguish or read signs while driving. The day of surgery was astonishing. I was treated so well by the staff prior to the surgery, so relaxed and in a great mood! Next thing I knew I was walking to meet up with my ride with all my instructions which are vital to a successful surgery. I could already see so much better, and it just keeps getting better. This review is being written only 2 days after the first surgery. I cannot wait for my other eye to be repaired. Very grateful to Dr Stock and his wonderful staff for doing such a great job taking care of me.

I cannot say enough how much I love Ideal Eye Surgery in O'Fallon IL! I woke up to Van Gogh trying to create a massive black abstract painting in my right eye. I initially started swatting at the spider flying around on it's web and trying to attack me before realizing that there was no spider but definitely a HUGE concern. I called their office and was in seeing a doctor in less than an hour. Their timely, phenomenal, and reassuring care they provided was absolutely top notch! I also had my cataract surgery done by Dr. Stock in 2019 and received equally impressive care from he and his staff, as well as the surgery eye center then as well! They genuinely care about their patients and their well being! Thank you Ideal Eye Surgery!

Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The cataract surgery process was extremely smooth and efficient. I highly recommend Ideal Surgery!

I'm giving two stars because the surgery itself went well however their billing practices are absolutely and positively terrible. We wrote them a check for payment immediately the day of the surgery and it took them 3 months to cash it. I have sent them another check and again, they are just sitting on it. ridiculous.
