JCPenney Optical

First, I would like to say the lady working at this location is very helpful and very patient, but that doesn't change the fact that whoever cuts the lenses are completely and utterly incompetent. This is my second pair, and over a month of waiting, they keep cutting the lenses the wrong size, causing the frame to squeak and possibly fall out when traveling. The progressive lenses also have etchings on the sides causing my vision to be blurry. I have to turn my head like a robot in order to see clearly because my peripheral vision is obstructed by the those numbers etched on the sides. One thing after another. I don't recommend JC Penney if you want reliable glasses. Edit: I just talked to customer service. They told me that refunds are only approved within 24 hours of picking up the glasses. I feel misled by the lady working there because she didn't tell me that. She instead told me to hold on to the glasses while she orders new lenses, knowing full well that the 24 hour refund policy would expire. EDIT: After talking to the District Manager he confirmed my suspicion that the transition between the distant and Intermediate zone for the progressive lenses was made too high up, causing my vision to be blurry as soon I looked slightly off center.

I bought 2-3 pairs of glasses over the past 2yrs. Maureen was excellent at explaining what I needed. She worked with me & then my husband. We were very pleased with the custom service & her knowledge of what we neeeded!

I've worn glasses my whole life and I've never had better customer service than I had here. Brittney was awesome! She really went above and beyond to make sure I got what I needed. The optometrist was great too I had to bring my toddlers with me to the eye exam and he was great with my munchkins. Great job guys!

Maureen n so co did a fabulous job! My glasses broke and I needed them for work. She got on the computer and found me the frame and had it delivered n 2 days! She fixed my glasses temporarily till my new frames came n.

I was very happy with my experience at JCPenney Optical in South County. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I take my glasses back to have them adjusted after I messed them up and they as so nice and fix them so they fit again. I will be going back next time I need an exam and glasses.

My friend Shirley Corich does not have internet and wanted to compliment how knowledgeable, helpful, and nice Maureen was in the optical department. Shirley has been buying eyewear there since 2012 because they have good prices and great selection of frames. Everyone there is so knowledgeable and the store is always clean. Shirley tells all her friends to go to Penneys in South County and ask for Maureen.

Not much good to say about this place. I paid too much for my glasses, the service was below average. I had to send my frames back twice, the first time within a few weeks of purchase because the nose piece had broken off, and the second time because the lenses, after six months, were completly scratched up. I have never had lenses scratch the way these did. I also paid extra for the HD and can tell no difference.

The doctor explained how much my prescription had changed and showed me the difference. The front desk spent time trying to find frames for me, asking questions, and double checked everything to get my glasses order just right.
