I noticed bad reviews and can't even imagine how!? He was quite straight to the point, but I find most good physicians are. He doesn't really have time to dance around on topics trying to make people feel fuzzy inside. I appreciated that! He spoke directly with my teenage son on a personable level rather than to me about him, in front of him which made my son feel more comfortable. We have had nothing but good experiences.

If your child is sent here for a military academy check up, please be aware this office does not know how to properly bill for this and will charge your child for the visit. SSM health billing can't help you and this office is beyond incompetent to get it cleared up. I've spent hours trying to clear up their billing mistake and still haven't gotten it sorted. If you have an option to send your child elsewhere for this exam, I highly urge you to do so.

I would have to agree that he is one of the worst doctors I've ever experienced in my life.
Extremely condescending and very rude. He rushes through your visits He doesn't give any information specific to your questions he only tells you what he wants to say. He was so discourteous in nature my seven-year-old son at the time, actually told him that he shouldn't talk to women the way that he just talk to his mother.
We gave him the benefit of the doubt, and came back for our second follow up visit. He was equally as condescending, rushed, and rude. I am so thankful that we found a good doctor for my child and never have to see the doctor again.
I would give him zero stars if I could but it will not allow me to post without giving him one star

Everyone else at the hospital was very nice, this review is solely on our experience with pediatric opthalmologist Dr Oscar Cruz. He is unprofessional, not personable and a lot of the time rude. He made it feel like we were wasting his time. My son had a very traumatic experience due to him. He did not introduce himself when he walked in, I would ask questions about my sons issues per his pediatricians request and dr Cruz said he would not answer any questions about anything other than what he told us. After the appointment he just walked out without saying nice to meet you or anything. We traveled far for this appt and our son has developmental issues so instead of making this smooth and easy for us he made us feel horrible. No words can explain how we felt after we left. I would strongly suggest researching another doctor or a different doctor in the practice.

Dr. Cruz did not even look at my granddaughter. He just came in angry and rude. We were trying to get a second opinion. It is her eyes we are talking about. I think that is important enough for a second opinion. Instead of talking to us he shouted at us. Said he didn't care if her eyes crossed in. Actually shouted it with my granddaughter sitting right there. I have no idea if he is a good Dr. He didn't give us a chance to decide. What I do know is that he is a thoughtless, discourteous man.

My daughter took my granddaughter in as her eye is wandering. The nurse did a consult and said the Dr. would be back in to do an eye exam. Dr. Cruz came into the room and said, "she is fine it could be from the cold virus". He said this WITHOUT doing any type of exam and then quickly left the room. The worst Dr. is one who assumes and does not listen. I would not recommend him for a plant let a lone a child!

The worst doctor ever! He didn't even spend two minutes on my son. Didn't answer any question and didn't ask at all if I have any questions. I am an immigrant, and when he entered our room, instead of introducing himself or saying hello, he immediately asked where I was from. He said to monitor the situation and left very quickly.

My daughter has seen Dr. Cruz for several years and he's been very helpful with properly setting her prescription. One of the standard eye doctor locations tested her and her script nearly 180 degrees out. And testing out her all over the board. Since Dr. Cru took over, her prescription has been dialed in, and has stabilized. All in all, I'm very happy with his performance.

Dr Oscar Cruz treats pediatric and adult patients for conditions and diseases related to the eyes. He offers surgery for adults with moderate to severe strabismus (crossed eyes, diplopia), and cares for children with moderate to severe amblyopia (poor sight) by occlusion therapy and/or pharmacologic therapy.
