Overland Optical Family Eye Care

I have been involved in the optical business for three decades and recently retired. My husband required an eye examination, so we visited Overland Optical, where he was attended to by Dr. Sarah Schmidt. Upon exiting the examination room, he expressed his astonishment at the thoroughness of the examination he received. He mentioned that he had never experienced such a comprehensive eye exam before, even after visiting numerous ophthalmologists and optometrists, stating that this was by far the best. Our sincere gratitude goes to Overland Optical, and a special thank you to Julia, Michelle, Marcy, and Marissa; your service was truly exceptional.

I had a wonderful appointment with Overland Optical. I was taken in at my appointment time, desk staff very friendly and welcoming, exams were thorough, and feedback was immediate. Questions I had were answered and working with the doctor was very comfortable and professional. Being fitted for glasses was extremely easy. All the staff from beginning to end were great to work with. I have not received the final product yet so that is to be determined, but my initial visit went quite well.

The staff is always nice and efficient. The overall experience is very personable yet very professional and high-tech. I have been going to get my eye care here for years and will continue to do so for years to come.

needed to replenish my contact lenses. All it took was a simple phone call and Julia took care of it. She gave me the option to pay for the six month supply in installments with no interest so you don't have to pay a big lump sum upfront. Great service! everything was done in less than two minutes. Highly recommend!

Great service for my elderly father. He didn't know he had cataract issues, she got him referred over to a specialist and went from there. We returned back once everything went well with surgery and now he's getting new glasses. Thank You for caring for my Dad.

Exceptional staff and service. My son is 6 and had his first eye exam, was a little nervous but the staff absolutely made him most comfortable. I'm so grateful to have chosen them because I don't have to look elsewhere.

I reached out to this optometrist as they are in my neighborhood and I wanted to do business with my neighbors. I needed an independent eye exam to submit to my lasik provider for re-treatment. Per my own error I did not bring the required form for them to fill out and to request that my eyes be dilated for cycloplegic refraction per the Lasik provider request. I called to get another appointment for that and you would have thought I asked for a refund. They had to call me back...twice because obviously she wasn't listening to me when I told her I needed the cycloplegic refraction portion as she tried to tell me that's what I got when I was there. I reminded her that I was never dilated. She then said oh a cycloplegic refraction...well I'll have to call you back. So I wait and the next day she called back and told me they don't do that and that I need to work with an optometrist that works with the Lasik provider because they don't. I called the lasik provider and they said that I should be able to go to any eye doctor and that it's very unusual that they would tell me that for which I agreed. Unfortunately I will not be returning there to order the temporary eyeglasses I need until my vision is retreated by the lasik provider. If my vision cannot be retreated and I have to go back to contacts and eye glasses they still won't be receiving my business. Unfortunate because they are just down the street and were otherwise very nice up till today. Guess that's what I get for having good insurance and wanting to shop local. Update: It is unfortunate that I had to leave a poor review in order to be offered the service I requested. The owners response and offer to correct the situation is too little too late as I had to find a different DO and come out of pocket for the requested evaluation. Being told to find someone else to work with is never a solution to miscommunication and misunderstanding, especially if you want their business. The offer to rectify the situation could have been more timely and not in response to a negative review. The other neighborhood optometrist I found was very professional and accommodating regardless of his opinion if what the lasik provider was requesting was needed. I was able to order frames and lenses and will be returning there for any eyecare needs for my family or myself in the future.

Dr. Sara and the whole staff at Overland Optical Family Eye Care are the best! They answered all my questions I had about my eyesight and made sure I got the correct glasses that I needed. I recommend them to anyone who is looking for a knowledgeable and caring eye doctor and staff.
