I wish I could give them a 1000 star review! They got me in on an emergency basis, I was told I might have to wait awhile, but I was seen, and scheduled for surgery within 3 hrs. Every person there was kind, caring, courteous and absolute angels. I felt like they couldn't do enough to make me comfortable and explained everything in detail. I absolutely recommend them to anyone who needs there services!
I am not writing to complain of the medical expertise. Rather the horrible experience I had with paying my bill. My out of pocket cost varied depending on who I was talking to, when I was talking to them, by what manner the bill arrived be it email, phone call, in person, and unbeknownst to me the policy changes. What do you begin to believe? Are they cheating me, I don't think so. I have come to believe the financial department of The Retina Institute is completely incompetent. Today my payment was demanded before my treatment would proceed. On the 5th of this month I paid the total amount owed, according to them, of $318.56. Then two days ago I was called and informed I owed another $59. I was angry but agreed to pay so that they would still treat my right eye. Then when I spoke to the next link I was told I owed $420. I was livid. I agreed again to pay this amount. Today upon checking in I was told if I didn't pay this amount they would not treat me. They said I had agreed to pay today before treatment. This was a lie. I never agreed to that. I couldn't I don't have the money. Nothing had changed in two days. Within this year I asked about payments they assured me as long as I made good faith payments it was fine to not pay all at once. Now the question I will have is what will be the amount next time, who will be telling me this, and what possible changes to the policy have occurred.
I had an outstanding experience with Allan B. at the Retina Institute of St. Louis on Tesson Ferry Rd. He was incredibly thorough, professional, and patient throughout my visit. His personable approach made me feel comfortable and well cared for. He took the time to explain everything clearly. The clinical research he is doing will improve the vision and lives of millions of patients going forward. Five stars for Alan B.
Dr. Blinder at the at the Retinal Institute was just as exceptional--his expertise was truly impressive. And I appreciated his ability to explain everything in a way that was easy to understand. I truly appreciated the time he took to answer my questions and ensure I felt confident in my care. Five stars for Dr. Blinder too. I highly recommend him for anyone in need of expert retinal care!
My grandmother went in, and they needed her to fill out paperwork! We expected that, but the woman that helped her fill it out was very ignorant to her, constantly cutting her off in the middle of sentences. If you're going to work in the health industry, you need to have better bedside manner. If you cant do that, find a different profession! Im disgusted as to how she was treated! If I could have gone with her, I would have! She loved the receptionist, Becky! She said she was great! The doctor got irritated that I wanted to be on speaker, so that tells me everything I need to know, considering I'm on the list of people that can have everything communicated to. She will not be back! The only person in this office worth a damn, is the receptionist, and thats sad! Absolutely disgraceful!
The best doctors office ever visited. Very professional, that take pride in there work and know how to treat people! Highly recommended and I couldn't ask for anything better!!
Thank you Dr. Iafe. You are truly a God send! I'm so grateful for you. You made a scary surgery a complete breeze for me.
Dr.Blinder dnt seem to comprehend that my mom cnt hear anything he is saying. He's been told this since her first app. about a yr ago. She goes every 8/10 weeks. She reads lips to understand. We have to tell him this at every app ( multiple times) You have to be patient with her. Yes he wears a mask (maybe get a clear face shield, stand at a distance & pull it down to explain ) so therefore she dnt know what he is saying so she has to look at me to relay to her what's going on & to understand ... he got an attitude becuz she wasn't looking at him while he was explaining (while the light's were out) her situation. He knows her situation about her hearing, yes she has hearing aids but they dnt help. Myself & my niece have explained this to him over a dozen times. He's ignorant. He dnt care. Maybe he shouldn't be wrkin with the elderly if he has issues & no understanding or compassion.
I would give them 10 stars if more were available to give! The staff here are second to none, the doctors are talented, compassionate and brilliant individuals. When dealing with your vision you need the best of the best and you will definitely find that and more right here. Thank you for saving my eye and saving my vision.
