Sam's Club Optical Center

Although Dr. Jason Bechtoldt and his staff are good people I can't recommend Sam's Club Wentzville Optical Center after the situation that I ran into last month. I got a new pair of prescription glasses from Sam's Club Wentzville Optical Center in January of 2024. Last month, June 2025 I had to switch out from my prescription glasses to my contacts so I left the glasses in the car in the glasses storage compartment. Later when I put them on they were kind of blurry and it looked like they had melted so I took them back to Sam's Club Wentzville Optical Center where I was told they couldn't do anything about it. Dr. Jason Bechtoldt did call me later and offer me $59 towards a new pair but I spent $200 for the glasses that melted. I have been wearing glasses for 45 years so this was probably my 15th or 20th pair of glasses that I've had in my life and I've NEVER had a pair do this before! Heck, I leave my cheap $3 reading glasses in the car and they don't do this! I leave my Wiley X sunglasses in the car and they've never done this! Needless to say, I am very disappointed that Sam's Club Wentzville Optical Center will not stand behind the products that they sell that appear to be less than the quality of even a cheap $3.00 pair of reading glasses.

My daughters eye doctor cancelled on us last minute so I called here so she didn't miss two days of school. Grace helped me on the phone and in store and was INCREDIBLE. She answered all my questions and was able to get us in almost right away. She was so nice- my daughter and I just loved her. The glasses were very affordable and Dr. Bochtoldt (I hope I remembered that correctly) was also amazing!! This will be our new always eye doctor they are GREAT!

Sam's Club optical is hands down the best place to get glasses and contacts!

Sam's Optical is probably a fine place to get eyeglasses, but all it takes is one terribly incompetent employee to ruin your experience. Last week I dropped off my prescription to get new lenses for an existing frame, but because the employee had just received new contact lenses that day, she could not read the computer screen. She was apologetic, but she wasted over an hour of my time because she couldn't see. Fortunately, another employee kept looking over her shoulder to assist and made sure that my Rx info was entered correctly. Today, I went to pick up my glasses and had the same employee; I had a friendly, brief chat with her to inquire about her eyesight issues. Obviously, she was aware that I was next in line, but when another couple rudely stepped in front of me to be served next, the employee served them. Fortunately, I won't need new glasses for a couple of years.

All staff was very helpful, and the visit was quick. My daughter needed glasses and I had to bring my 3 year old son with me. Even though he was going crazy and being loud, they never showed they were annoyed and brought out coloring books and crayons for him to play with. As to the visit itself, no one else in Wentzville could get us in that day, and they were able to in under an hour. The wait was about 10 minutes or less, and the doctor and staff were very accommodating. I'm not sure about the other review that was left for this location, but I had no issues and would highly recommend.

Trying to get special lead goggles made for my job. I work in the OR and under c-arm Xray most of the time. My employer is willing to get me prescription lead goggles but they can't be made because the optical department refuses to share all of my info needed to make the lenses properly! Thanks for denying me important eye protection nothing sounds better than getting a premature cataract. I'll NEVER return to a place that clearly doesn't care about my eye health .

These people are great! They are quick and very nice, there's a short wait unlike other places and they are so sweet. They will help you with anything you need and are always very helpful! The lady that saw us helped my daughter pick out an amazing pare of glasses and she loves them. I highly recommend them:)

Great staff here at the wentzville location, I highly recommend them. I think I dealt with every member of the optical team and all of them did a great job and taking care of my Vision needs.
