I wish I could give a better review since I work within the system, but to be honest, it could be better. Surgery went fine for my daughter (with the exception that they missed one stye). But there was no follow up after surgery to see how we were doing, and they did not call to schedule a one month post-op visit as promised. It really bothers me when people don't follow up, especially with such a sensitive matter as eye surgery

My wife had a very bad experience visiting the pediatric eye clinic for renewing my daughter's contact lenses. The doctor who was supposed to treat my daughter's eye sent a student who was not experienced at all to take care. They were waiting for over an hour for the student for just analysis of my daughter's eyes. Then doctor came and spent five minutes saying that my wife supposed to bring the lenses with her for that visit and they cannot do anything without the lenses. If the doctor said that earlier instead of having the student do the work they could still get the lenses instead of waiting until the last minutes. My wife and daughter didn't have any useful advice during that visit which also charged ~200 bucks for the visit. And we have to arrange another visit. Totally waste of money and time. Don't ever come if you can find another better doctor for pediatric eye clinic.

Despite confirming the care would be in-network prior to my son's first standard eye visit, we were still charged an additional ~$500 for the appointment taking place inside a hospital setting. Both my insurance and the provider said I should have called ahead to ask if there would be any additional charges beyond the visit. So yeah no, not going back here again.

The care and attention that our son was given was exceptional! Due to the nature of the specialty we understand the long wait times for the consultations as I'm sure they are providing the same amount of attention to all the children that they see. We have another surgery to go before my son's eyes will be fixed. Was the first surgery expensive? Yes. I wouldn't expect less considering all the people, facilities and resources used to ensure his positive experience and successful outcome. Will the second surgery be expensive? Yes. Once again, there are a lot of resources used to help our children be the best they can be. I will sell all I own if it means my son's quality of life is improved. Thank you Dr. Jill Anderson and all your associates for the great work! Keep it up!

We can't thank Dr. Struhl enough for the time and patience she had with us and our daughter. She needed to have surgery twice to clear her tear duct. As first time parents of a 3 week old baby, we we're terrified but the staff at the clinic and hospital we're beyond amazing in making us feel less nervous and that our daughter would be safe. Over the past 16 months, we've made several trips back to have checkups and to make sure we were still progressing towards no other complications or surgeries and we just got the all clear today and are sad that we no longer have to go back. Although, wait times can be long, these doctors are specialists and I know that there is no one I would trust more to take care of our daughter. We are two extremely grateful parents for this clinic.

I have had two experiences of being treated with disrespect by one of the practitioners that work at this eye clinic. Both incidents occurred while I was waiting to pay out of pocket for my appointment in the lobby. These unpleasant experiences have left lasting impressions that have made me feel as though I was gum on the bottom of a shoe. For the first experience, I was led and asked to sit in a chair behind the reception desk by the person handling my specialize payment arrangement. I was then approached by a practitioner and asked in a surly manner, "Who are you, what do you think you are doing here?" After the person handling the billing explained the situation, the practitioner offered no apology to the accusatory manner in which she approached me and just huffed like I was a major inconvenience for sitting in a chair trying to pay. I later had the practitioner perform a visual examine where she was much more professional. The second time I showed up 20 minutes before my appointment. The person responsible for handling my specialized payment arrangement arrived 45 minutes after our agreed upon time. He specifically told me to show up 20 minutes early because in his words "doctors do not like to be held up at the end of the day." Because I could not see the doctor until I paid up front, I was stuck nervously pacing in the lobby. When I went to the receptionist desk, the same practitioner as I had a negative encounter with six months prior asked why my son was not checked in yet. The receptionist tried to explain the situation but was cut off by the practitioner. She glared at me and said "there's no time for his examination now." It made me feel like my presence was not as a valued customer, but a complete nuisance. I live and work in China and my family specifically flew back to Minnesota with my 16-month-year-old this summer for this appointment. The second appointment we had was half the time (20 minutes) as the first but the cost was the same. The visual examine that was conducted the first time by the practitioner was not conducted on the second visit. Upon leaving, my wife and I couldn't help but feel that we were possibly short-changed our appointment duration and full examination due to the practitioner's comment "there's no time for his examination now." Needless to say, see will be taking our business to the Mayo for our next visit.

Waited over an hour and the doc didn't show up for the appointment I made four months in advance. My son is handicapped and just sat with his eyes dilated in a cramped office until I finally just decided to leave. Paid $14 for parking, drove 25 miles to see a really good pediatric optho and now I wish we would have just stayed in the suburbs. Have been going to this clinic for 13 years with outstanding care, but that doctor moved on and we got stuck with De Becker. Her credentials are outstanding when you look online, but who blows off a little handicapped guy like that? We are definitely changing clinics!!!

They are great with children! They have a lot of patience and they make it fun for kids. Parking took a minute to locate because it's behind the building but after I found it it was so easy. The clinic is right across the street from the hospital so that was so easy when my son needed surgery, we already knew where to go. The scheduler, Leann is so sweet and helped find answers to our questions when our doctor took ill and we needed to transfer to a different doctor. I highly recommend MN Lions Children's Eye!
