America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

I went to America's best for an eye exam and it was a great experience. The staff is professional and helpful. It was a little odd ha.ving a Virtual appointment with the eye Doctor but the technicians did all of the exams and were very accomplished and professional. I recommend this place. It's clean, easy to access, with good parking and great service. After your appointment, walk a little down the sidewalk and go have lunch at the Hacienda Mexican restaurant with excellent food and service.

A few issues, they were more expensive than I expected based off of their advertising. And the experience beyond price was also lackluster. They were confused a lot as to the next step of their own process ,and I didn't know as a first-time patient. And there was a long wait time to get my initial appointment but I waited thinking they had very good prices but turns out they didn't. And then after paying I waited another week to get my products. I still have to complete a trial run with contacts to get my actual prescription so I can order more contacts. It is a longer process with them than I expected , higher cost than I expected, and they also do not know their own process. they were confused a lot as to what I was there for my appointments . Lastly I would have thought they would giving me a microfiber cloth to clean my glasses with but they don't. It seems that they are too busy with other patients to give good service to anyone patient. However all but one of them was kind and pleasant. And that one wasn't unpleasant just a little bit of a bossy nature but not too bad and she did eventually find my trial pack of contacts.

Every time I come to this location, there is always a hassle or an issue with receiving basic service. The first time I came in, the woman at the counter assumed I was with another Black woman just because we were both Black. Instead of greeting me, asking my name, or simply acknowledging me, I was judged and looked at like I was the problem for speaking up about it. Today, I called this location at 10:24 AM and spoke with who I believe was the supervisor. He claimed he could not locate my account using my phone number, date of birth, or email. Yet, I was able to log into my account online within seconds. I then called the Burton and Winston-Salem locations, and both of them were able to pull up my account immediately. I was on the phone for approximately 20 minutes just for him to hang up on me while I was still speaking. That was extremely unprofessional. This location needs better training and customer service standards. At this point, I would rather drive 15-25 minutes to Winston-Salem where the staff is friendly and respectful, because I have never received that same level of professionalism at this location.

My husband came here for a contact eye exam. He was there over 2 hours. He has an astigmatism and needs a specific brand which they didn't have trials of which is fine so they ordered them to be shipped to our house. We have a receipt and everything. The contacts never showed up, my husband called and they said well you didn't tell us if the trials worked or not. He wasn't trialing any bc he knows the exact kind he needs. So now they want to use a new year of insurance instead of last years bc they messed it all up. So instead of ordering a second pack of contacts on the new insurance he'll only be getting one. We will not be returning to this company.

This place has gone downhill. It used to be a good place to get glasses but not anymore. Way too many employees standing around talking about complaining about working. Ordered two pairs of glasses, got a message stating that "they" were ready. Only one pair was ready. Then I get a text today that the 2nd pair is now ready. Why not wait until both pairs were there before sending a message? People are taking off from work and going on their limited lunches to pick these glasses Just stupid and inconsiderate. Just because your job of choice is miserable don't make it hard for everyone else. Won't be back, you're better off just ordering your glasses online and way cheaper. Also forgot to mention that there's no on site optometrist, you have a virtual optometrist who reports whatever was sent over to you, ridiculous.

This is the second time with two different pairs of glasses that they have messed up. The first time they had the material wrong. This time the right eye prescription is too strong. I really like the glasses I picked out, but I won't even be able to wear them. Highly upset because obviously something needs to be done about training. This is ridiculous!

I really appreciated the staff at Americas Best! They are nice and super clear about pricing and the Optician Michael helped me adjust my glasses when I came back to pick them up. Also shout out to Dr. Wu! She was so awesome and helped me fix my messed up prescription from another office.

First time here and will be back. Amanda was amazing! Super helpful and understand with all my questions and helping me pick the perfect pair of glasses!
