America's Best Contacts & Eyeglasses

This post is for my mother who has been going to this N.48th Lincoln NE Location for over 3 years now. At the end of last year my mom had to get her yearly contacts and realized that Americas best contacts & eyeglasses switched her brands to their own brand without asking her if she would be okay with this (We assume they switched the brand to theirs in order for americas best to make a higher profit on my moms sale) When she refused them the lady manager told her that they can switch them back to the other brand if she likes but she would have to pay more for them, Which my mom didn't mind doing so since it was a brand she knew and was comfortable with. My mom also paid for the contacts out of pocket but went back to let them know that her insurance was gonna reimburse her but that they needed to run the claim at Americas best to receive her money back. The same lady manager kept giving excuses as to why this claim may cost her more to proceed (maybe because she didn't want to do her job or was looking to make more money off my mom) The lady manager explains that my mom may loose her claim for 2025 since its now 2026 and that my mom needed to pay an extra $113.00 more to move forward with the claim,. At every point this lady manager tried to get more money out of my mom. Rather than help a returning customer and show value and appreciation to a long and loyal standing customer, this manager chose to be difficult and greedy about the whole situation. My mom does not recommend this place and highly advices anyone to go anywhere else instead of this eyeglass establishment.

I was told by multiple people not to waste my time with this location but yet being closest to me and being on a time restraint,I called in at 551 pm on Wednesday evening to set up an appointment that all I needed was to order frames with my prescription that the lady assured me it was still good till April...Then I show up early for a 920am appointment and of course they had no idea and come to find out my prescription is supposedly expired and they could only do a remote session... This location is absolute garbage and a waste of time...I've been using America's best for like 10 years and I will NEVER use or even contact this location for anything again! Save your automated message cus this is B.S and will put me behind on shipping for my trip now! If only zero stars were possible!

My prescription was wrong way too strong had to see they eye doctor again. Mind you we live over 50 miles away. That got fixed and whoever the lady was that adjusted them did no help. They fall down always pushing them up. Ridiculous for a $200+ pair of glasses. Back in 2012 I had no problem got 2 pair for a good price and my eye exam. I guess with insurance they don't care. They have went downhill. Will never go there again.

I have been going to this location since I moved to Lincoln. Routinely, Rebecca has always brightened that store. She is kind, full of life and energy, and after my appointment this week I put it on my to do list to let the store/corporation know what good work she is doing. It is easy to hire someone to do a job/task. It is another thing to find someone to do a task with joy and life, caring about those who walk in and out of the store. She has made boring annual eye exams a space that added to my day rather than keeping it neutral or subtracting from the joy in my day. She joked with me about how much Diet Dr. Pepper she drinks, encouraged other workers who were tired that day, and really cared about me as I looked for new glasses and am quite picky. I am not sure how raises work, or if this is going to get to her, but I do think that I want to bring attention to the work she is doing day in and day out loving others and taking her job to the next level. I am writing to express my extreme dissatisfaction with the progressive eyeglasses I purchased from your establishment. I paid $700 for two pairs of glasses intended for reading and computer work. Unfortunately, I am unable to see clearly with them. I can barely read with the bottom portion of the lenses, and my vision for computer work is no different than without glasses. When I returned to your store to explain the issue, I was told that I simply needed more time to adjust. However, I am concerned that if I cannot see anything with these glasses, I will be unable to work. I was also informed that a refund or return is not possible. I am very disappointed with this outcome and feel that these progressive eyeglasses are both expensive and useless in my case. I have been going to america's best for 3yrs now. The first two times I was pleased. This last time was the worst and I will now be switching my eye care to a new place. Very unprofessional, unorganized, understaffed, over booked with people they can't manage appropriately or give adequate time to customers/patients. Some of the staff needed an attitude adjustment. Some staff didn't know how to do their jobs.

I had a horrible experience at the other location in Lincoln (you can read my review on their page to see why) and the employees at this store more than made up for it. They apologized for my previous experience and made sure to address all my concerns. I will 100% be coming back to this store for any future appointments. Thank you for making me feel so welcome!

Very pleasant . I didn't have a long wait.. I cant remember the staff name that was there however they both was very funny and help me pick my glasses thanks
