Dr. Kenneth W. Houchin, MD

Absolutely worst (can't call him a Dr.). I had a blepharoplasty. DON'T GO TO HIM. He's not an actual surgeon. Worst, scary experience ever, painful, no music, no sedative, just started cutting my eyelids after the numbing shots. Talking about other client surgeries the whole time, and then completely botched my eyelids. One he took too much tissue and I think left a stitch in my eye. Can't close my eyes all the way and have awful scarring starting. My eyes look sunk in now because the pulling on skin. I'm going to Utah to a professional to have them try to fix this. Bad experience and terrible bedside manner this man has. I'm surprised he's in practice.

Dr. Houchin is the best dr I have ever been to! He's very very thorough. He has saved me in many ways The entire staff are friendly and welcoming.. If you want the best, he's the doctor to have Updated Zero stars for the optical department and Alyssa's working at the front desk They are full of drama and put me in the middle of it all. I have been hung up on, Alyssa ordered a new pair of glasses for me since my other ones weren't coming in Alyssa told me they would be for free since I was waiting so long. I told her I'd think the doctor and she's oh no don't do that. He doesn't know about this. I told her OK but my plan was to tell the doctor I called and called and called cause I needed to speak with the doctor I was in the emergency room. I needed a care from him. I know I never got my message. I will continue to go see him because he is one of the greatest doctors I've ever had. I will bypass them with my head held high I have integrity where the staff is have any integrity at all.

Doctor is good, but the staff don't do their job very well. My dad was recommended eye surgery, but the staff lost his copy of his ID, they did not call his insurance to get it approved and now they are charging us for visits that we never scheduled and that were not even for my dad. He now has a collection on his credit score that I've been disputing for close to a year now. Not paying for something that is not his, sorry not sorry. Highly recommend going elsewhere if you don't want a headache.

The doctor is good but the lady in charge of ordering contacts is extremely rude believe her name in anne and always gives the run around for reasons they can't order waited months multiple times when they were not on backorder. Everytime we call there is a different excuse or story on why the person in charge is off for the day or she hangs up since we chose to go else where. Would definitely not recommend this place even if it's last minute.

Dr. Houchin went to an excellent medical school and is a medical MD, not an optomotrist. If you just need eye glasses, and aren't concerned about glaucoma, cataracts, iritis, or other eye diseases, then no need to see an opthamalogist. He helped cure my iritis. I agreed to eye lid surger to improve peripheral and upper vision which he performed flawlessly. He's quiet, studious, not particularly conversational, so don't expect going to chat.

If I could give this doctor 0 stars I would. They do not ever do anything to resolve your vision issues. Their medical office does not bill correctly. We are a Military family and they do not understand billing for Tricare at all. They have sent me to collections for their incorrect billing. And charged ridiculous fees. The doctor is awful.

I used to think that poor doctors would be weeded out by the medical community. Boy was I wrong! This quack really needs to have his medical license taken away! He almost caused me to go blind by misdiagnosing iritis when in all probability it was actually dust on the lenses of his instrument. Quack with a capital Q

Maybe the most unprofessional Dr you will ever visit , just ask any local medical professionals in the area if they would go to this horrible person. Please see an ophthalmologist from Reno or Salt Lake City.
