I had a great experience at Bengoa Eye Care from start to finish. The front desk staff was friendly and efficient, and check-in was quick and easy.
Dr. Sullivan was wonderful--thorough, knowledgeable, and very personable. She took the time to explain everything clearly and made me feel comfortable throughout the entire exam.
Picking out glasses was just as smooth. The staff was patient, helpful, and gave honest feedback, which made the process enjoyable.
Overall, excellent care and outstanding customer service. I highly recommend Bengoa Eye Care!
I have been going to Bengoa Eye Care for years, always a pleasure. Everyone is very friendly. The young man who helped me pick out glasses this time was very helpful. It's always hard to decide which glasses to get. Thank you for another fantastic experience.
This time I saw Dr Amy. I feel much more informed and confident than I did with the optometrist I saw last year. She was clear and concise but explained things in laymans terms. Options were explored and agreed upon. Office staff is very pleasant and knowledgeable also
I absolutely loved Dr Amy. She's is incredible very personable. My detail on my vision was very informative. The staff is very knowledgeable, helpful and friendly. I didn't feel like I was in a dr office felt comfortable and homey.
I was visiting our hunt club in Kings River Valley and started having floaters and flashes of light in one eye. Every professional I contacted over the phone said to get care urgently. So I called Bengoa Eye Care and they were gracious enough to fit me in. The front desk girls were amazing, Debby was kind and professional and Dr. Sullivan was thorough, compassionate and so friendly! It turned out to be nothing serious and I was beyond thankful they they were able to care for me so well!
What a rude, unprofessional and uncouth person I believe Dr Sullivan is...
I have been a patient of Bengoa Eye Care for many years now, and, until this incident, have consistently had positive experiences. Unfortunately, my most recent visit marked a significant departure from the professionalism and patient care I have come to expect.
Following recent lens replacement surgery performed in Reno, I have encountered ongoing challenges with achieving an accurate prescription... particularly for real-world distance vision.
In an effort to better understand and address these issues, I invested my own time and resources into testing various lenses using a professional trial kit. Through this process, I identified several factors that appeared to be contributing to my prescription difficulties and scheduled an appointment specifically to discuss these findings and explore possible solutions with Dr Sullivan.
From the outset of the appointment, Dr. Sullivan was dismissive and unreceptive.
She repeatedly interrupted me as I attempted to explain my observations and stated multiple times that the information "didn't matter."
Rather than engaging in a brief clinical discussion or considering the context behind my requested prescription changes, she expressed interest only in issuing a prescription without understanding how or why those values were determined.
When I asked whether it would be helpful for her to understand what I had discovered about my vision, I was again told that it did not matter.
Her demeanor became increasingly curt, and the interaction escalated to the point where I was informed that although she would write the prescription, I was no longer welcome to return to the practice or order glasses through Bengoa Eye Care.
I left the appointment shocked and disappointed.
I remained composed throughout the interaction, but the experience was unnecessarily hostile and unprofessional.
Dr Sullivan had no interest in discussing the fundamental information regarding my eyes...
She just wanted to write whatever prescription I said I felt I needed...
Absolutely no attempt at understanding my personal situation.
Since my last visit, I have learned through conversations with others, that similar dismissive behavior has reportedly occurred with other patients, including individuals being told to leave after asking reasonable questions....
She apparently has a history of unpleasant behavior.... One such case involved her leaning over a counter putting her hand in someone's face, and telling them they're "dismissed"..
Other accounts have her talking negatively about her staff outside business hours.
While I cannot personally verify every account, the consistency of these reports is concerning.
I want to be clear that my complaint is not directed at Bengoa Eye Care as a whole. Until this incident, the practice has served me well...
Dr. Sullivan's behavior is a disgrace to what Cody Bengoa built.
However, the conduct I experienced from Dr. Sullivan stands in stark contrast to the standards of professionalism and patient centered care that Bengoa Eye Care represents.
I believe such behavior reflects poorly on the practice and undermines the trust patients place in their healthcare providers.
Got me in quickly. Very nice staff. Great service. Eye doctor nailed my prescription. Was so satisfied I bought a pair of prescription safety glasses. They were as well spot on.
Doctor was fine. Staff showed a few possible frames and black and white catalog to try and find glasses I liked. Basic staff attitude is they don't care. Choose what is available. When glasses arrived. They didn't care that I didn't like them. They offered no help or alternative solutions. When I told them they lost my business after several years. Their response was have a nice day. Bengoa thinks they are the only ones in town and customer service or satisfaction do not matter anymore. I will be looking for optometrist who cares about their clients. Even if I have to travel. I can't do business with people who simply don't care anymore
