Costco Optical Department

As most often is the case the Costco staff are knowledgeable and professional. The two Eye Docs at this location are superb in every way Dr Doan & Dr Cheurn are impressive as is their office assistant. The state of the art equipment here make for a far better and comfortable examination.

Dr. Doan is amazing and I'm pretty sure the bad reviews are about the former eye doctor. Got contacts exam ( yes it also includes physical glasses exam , which means u will get two prescriptions) last week. Tried so many different normal contacts (such as Acuvue & coopervision) and colored contacts before but every single brand felt horrible in my eyes due to the condition of serious dry eyes and allergy They wouldn't even last for 2 hours while I was always applying eye drops . But Dr. Doan took a very good care of me and gave me the only contacts prescription which fits my dry eyes ( Bosch & Lomb Infuse)! Did some research on it, it has high water content and high oxygen transmission rate that's why it can last for 5 hours at least without any discomfort in my eyes! She also recommended a treatment for my eye allergy ! She's the best! Will definitely drop by again for future services and will recommend Dr. Doan to my friends!

Usually I think Costco treats its members at a high standard so my recent experience didn't match my expectation. We ordered three pairs of glasses for family members (yeh, we are near-sight family..) and when we pick up, we were only given two, saying the third one was not ready. I checked after one month, and was told the 3rd pair was already there when we picked up the two. I understand occasional overlook, what motivated me to this review is the rude tone of the guy who answered my phone. He didn't apologize as if it were my fault and I didn't feel he care this matter at all. While, if this is your department job where you get your salary, then you need to care, at least pretending it. I later want to double check the glass is physically there so I called again. A lady answered the phone and I feel she was understandable and polite. That's why I give 3 star instead of 1 star.

Dr. Messa was wonderful. I came in for a first-time Costco eye exam appointment today and he was very kind, and very quick. It was nice to have my exam done so quickly yet professionally, because at most eye clinics, you have to wait for a long time both before and during the appointment. He even gave me a reading of my pupillary distance to use when ordering inexpensive glasses online through Zenni, etc. As someone who primarily wears contacts and doesn't want to spend a lot of money on glasses that I only wear at night, it was nice to have a doc understand and help. I will definitely be back.

The man working at the counter was extremely rude. I waited patiently to ask if they had my contact lenses in stock and he spoke to several customers and an employee as if he were a drill sargent. I left without buying anything and will gladly pay higher prices for better customer service elsewhere.

The ophthalmologist's service is excellent, she is a very competent and courteous professional, I will vote again.

The man at the counter is extremely rude. He seemed like he didn't want to help anyone. Also, I ordered contacts and they said it would come in about a week, I ended up waiting a lot longer. Third, they do not answer their phone calls and I had to call three days in a row to get them to finally answer their phone. I will never purchase my contacts from this place ever again. Not worth the couple of bucks saved.

I came in asking to buy a screw for my glassed and the gentleman at the counter put in the screw and fixed the position of my glasses so it sat better on my face and was straight. Thank you!!
