I have become very disappointed with the service provided by several of the individuals. When I initially began with them many years ago, I was being treated Dr. Gershenbaum. I very pleased with him. He was very thorough, very patient, professional, and answered all of my questions. Unfortunately, he left this organization. Then I was going to Dr Naadimuthup, who was also excellent. I was then advised that she was no longer handling the regular patients. So for the next several years I met with several other MDs and ODs, who were competent, but not very customer friendly. The last MD that I recently met with was Dr. Kanengiser. My appointment was for 9:00 a.m., but the doctor did not show up until after 10:30 a.m.. I was informed by the front desk, that even though appointments are made at 9:00 a.m., this doctor does not arrive before 10:30 am I found this to be very unprofessional and discourteous. Additionally, when I had the exam, he did not spend much time, almost seeming rushed. He also did not explain much of what he was doing. As a result of this, I have discontinued coming to them and I found a new doctor, who provided the type of excellent service that I would have expected from Freehold Opthalmology.

I was referred to this practice by my optometrist as my daughter had an eye injury. She was seen by Dr. Kanengiser. The doctor and the technicians and medical staff that work with him are very kind and were very patient with my daughter who was afraid and in pain. They patiently waited for my daughter to be ready for her eye drops and talked her through the whole process. All this being said, I did find the front desk staff at check in to be a bit rude. I asked a question and was met with a very rude response. Similarly, I witnessed these same receptionists treat other patients in the same rude manor on both days my daughter was seen in office. After this experience I was contacted by the office manager who apologized for the behavior of the front desk staff. The office manager was very kind and because of my experience in speaking with her, and my great experience with the medical staff, I will be returning to this practice for myself and my kids in the future.

My worst experience at an eye appointment was extremely disappointing and frustrating. I arrived 15 minutes early for my scheduled appointment, only to be told by the front desk that I didn't have an appointment at all. This immediately caused confusion and stress, especially since I had taken the time to arrive early. After a long wait with no clear explanation, I was finally called in, but the situation only got worse. The doctor spent barely two minutes with me and seemed rushed the entire time. There was no effort to listen to my concerns or explain anything about my eye health. The exam felt careless and incomplete, as if the doctor was more focused on moving on to the next patient than actually providing proper care. It felt less like a medical appointment and more like a business where patients are treated as numbers instead of people. The long wait, poor communication, and rushed behavior made the entire experience feel very unprofessional. Eye appointments should be careful and attentive, but this one made it seem like they didn't care about their patients at all. I left feeling unheard, dissatisfied, and disappointed with the level of care I received.

I was in the phone on hold for 22 min. Hung up and called again before I could say a word. She said quickly Freehold Opthalmology please hold. I said no no no I have been on ho.... Ignored my plea put me back on hold. I'm still holding for 12 minutes. Omg if I wasn't already a patient I would go elsewhere. You don't need an ophthalmologist till you urgently need one. Such bad patient survice. I come back to let you know the outcome of my experience as a patient if they ever pick up.

Absolutely horrid, the"doctor" rushed everything I was saying and didn't answer my questions too well. I got finessed because I asked if it was going to hurt and she was talking random crap about how much this is going to hurt and whatever and I asked her if my lashes were going to be fine, because what do you mean rip out, and she didn't say anything. I asked TWICE by the way. I got shegged, don't go, it sucks.....

I made an appointment for my dad for Dec 9, 2025 at 4:30pm I had scheduled this appt in November . My dad never received a call to confirm his appointment, so i called the office to make sure his appointment was for 4:30 on this day. The receptionist put me on hold and then another receptionist takes over the call and says he doesn't have this appoint. then she says he was scheduled for Dec 9, 2026!!!! I was furious because i waited over a month for this appointment and they ended up making a mistake and putting him in for Dec of next year! the girl on the phone was extremely rude and had major attitude. instead of accommodating me with a sooner appoint. ( since it was their mistake) she said next available is not until February. Ridiculous!!! we will not be coming to this place

I was really disappointed with my recent visit. The appointment felt very rushed -- I was in and out so quickly that I didn't feel like my concerns were properly addressed. The doctor did not take the time to explain things clearly, and I didn't feel any personal care or attention to my situation. When it comes to eye health, I expected a more thorough and patient-focused experience. Unfortunately, I left feeling like just another number on the schedule rather than a valued patient.

Had a random (and slightly ridiculous) situation where a piece of sand got stuck in my eye and wouldn't come out for nearly two hours. It was uncomfortable, a bit funny, and totally unexpected, but the team at Freehold Ophthalmology was amazing. They fit me in last-minute, even toward the end of the day, and stayed a few minutes past closing just to help. Dr. Junyue Qu was kind, patient, and had a great sense of humor about the whole thing. The front desk and staff were just as lovely and made the whole experience way less stressful than it could've been. Super grateful for how nice and accommodating everyone was. Highly recommend!
