I visited Dr Nestorowicz a few weeks ago and was very happy with my experience. I had been in the same brand of contact lenses for some time and he offered for me to try a different type with newer technology. So far I have noticed that the new contacts are more comfortable than my previous ones. I also purchased a new pair of glasses to help with eye strain since I work on the computer a lot. The exam was very thorough and the staff was all helpful and pleasant! Thank you!
Beware of This Optometrist: A Disappointing Experience
I recently had an extraordinary alarming experience that I feel compelled to share. From the outset, I was skeptical of their methods. The initial examination involved a brief machine that felt completely unhelpful, followed by a glaucoma test. The equipment used did not seem thorough or adequate for a comprehensive eye exam whatsoever, raising serious concerns about the quality of care provided. It should be no surprise that I got an appointment within 1 to 2 days of quarantine. Try doing that with a highly reputable physician in my area! (It would never occur). But beggars can't be choosers and it was the end of the year, so I went, much to my dismay.
When I finally met the doctor, I was disappointed to discover that there was no information available about his background or credentials on their website. When inquired on their Facebook page for more details, they declined to provide any. This lack of transparency is concerning.
During the exam, the doctor asked if I could see certain letters better or worse, but I found it difficult to see them at all. When I expressed my concerns, he didn't seem to take them seriously, which made me question the reliability of the equipment he was using. I don't know if his machine was scratched or dirty, but something was extremely off!! Eventually, I received a prescription that seemed completely inaccurate, claiming an improbable improvement in my vision of a full diopter or more, which in actuality should have been a decline. When I ask tried to explain why this was illogical, staff talked down to me like a two year old. Unbeknownst to them, I've had my refraction done in recent months, and it was very close to my current eyeglass prescription and nowhere near the bogus script they wrote!! Highly negligent, in my opinion.
When I asked if I could just get a prescription that matched my current lenses, they refused, explaining that I needed to use their inaccurate prescription instead.
When I requested adjustments or a reconsideration of the prescription, I was told to seek a second opinion elsewhere. I also asked for assistance with persistent itching in my rye, and was told I would need to return for another appointment, despite having JUST been there. A chalazion was also overlooked and never even commented on. Frustratingly, he also overlooked visible redness in my eyes that I could see clearly with the naked eye. He said he didn't see it. You could see it with the naked eye, so I'm sure any reputable person could see it with a machine or their naked eye. He also Try to sell me around $180 or so of additional test, and said insurance would not cover it. I declined. Before I left staff, Karen again, stopped me to tell me that suddenly insurance would cover it... Again, seems highly suspicious, and would require another visit. It felt SLEAZY like when you haggle with a foreign souvenir shop.
Additionally, I highly advise against purchasing frames from this office. I was promised a value of up to $130 but was soon faced with restraint from writing down the names of the frames I liked. Upon further research, I discovered I could purchase the same frames online for as little as $4.50 to $8.50! The quality of the frames offered was also disappointing.
Given my experience, I strongly suggest avoiding this practice and urging others to reconsider before making an appointment. If you have faced similar issues, I recommend contacting the New Jersey Board of Medical Examiners. And I highly suspect that the five star reviews you see are not only questionable but makes me wonder what happened to all the One, two, three, and four star reviews because they were very few perfect people let alone perfect physicians and this certainly is NOT one of them.
Proceed with caution!
Dr.I has been the family eye doctor since my kids were little. Not they are grown and my entire family still gets their eye exams and glasses with Doctor I. They have an amazing selection and their staff is so helpful with everything from selection to any follow ups needed after our appointment. I would give them 6 stars if I could!
Excellent doctor. He is competent and experienced. He explains things well and genuinely cares about his patients. The office is clean and well maintained. The office staff is friendly and helpful. I never feel rushed and it is easy to get appointments. I also never have to wait. I 100% recommend this doctor to anyone who wants excellent eye care.
Jenna and Matthew Clark
I was in need of new glasses and contacts and was recommended to visit Dr. Nestorowicz. My experience was excellent. I've always been wary of going to new doctors and office but was pleasantly surprised by the professionalism and warmth that I was greeted with. I bought one of their best lines of glasses, and they're my favorite out of any of the glasses I've ever gotten! I felt comfortable making my purchases because Dr. Nestorowicz and his staff were so patient and thorough in explaining all the options and information about my health so I felt very informed before making this investment. Staff was very nice, and they even gave me cookies! I'm definitely coming every year.
Great experience! From the moment we walked in we were greeted by such a friendly and helpful staff! Dr.Nestorowicz was so kind and so thorough with our exams (my 14 year old daughter and I). He was patient and took his time to explain everything to us.
I would highly recommend this office to anyone looking for an eye doctor!!
From a thorough eye exam to being fitted for contact lens or glasses, it's always a positive experience at Dr Nestorowicz's office. The Dr and Staff are friendly and knowledgeable. They offer a wide variety of frames and contact lens. My entire family are now patients. We wouldn't go anywhere else.
Just an Amazing Staff. From The doctor David. Mariam, & Sharon. It was so worth it to drive from Old Bridge to Freehold just for an eye exam. Also I was planning on buying my glasses and my son's glasses from another place but I ended up buying it from Dr David's office because they made me & my son "who's 12" feel so comfortable and welcomed. Also the price was right.
