Received Incomplete Script and Inaccurate Missed Appointment Messages
We went there for decades, and we will Never Go Back!!! Met with Dr Glatman on 12/26, and we talked about me continuing with Progressive Glasses. I was given the script for my new glasses at the front desk and went to Walmart to have it filled.
I was advised at Walmart that it was not for Progressive glasses, but Only for Distance, Not for Reading. The script that I received was Inaccurately Written.
To make things worse, 3 days after my appointment, I received a text message saying:
"Please contact our office to reschedule the appointment you missed with MMEC Freehold on 12-26"
When I called to advise them that I was there on 12/26 with Dr Glatman, they apologized and said it'll never happen again.
Well, the following morning, I received an email saying
"Our records indicate that you missed your appointment on Dec 26, 2025 at Millennium Eye Care, Freehold"
When you go to any medical facility, you need to be able to trust them completely. But when these kind of mistakes happen; I can not trust nor would I recommend to anyone, to go to Millennium Eye Care, they are not the same.
This review is for Genesis Eye Wear, the optometrist (glasses store) at Millennium Eye Care. This is NOT for the doctor's office.
I live in Freehold and pass by Millennium Eye Care all the time but have never purchased glasses from them. I decided to try them after all these years. Usually I get glasses at LensCrafters or a local private provider.
The store is comfortable and the selection of frames is very good. The prices for frames are what you would find anywhere else, be it LensCrafters or Sam's Club. They had a good range of prices, from reasonable to over the top. They carry a good selection of common brands, including Ray Ban.
I explained that I was just shopping, because I had no idea what I would find there or the prices. The sales woman, Inez, took very good care of me and was not at all pushy. I was pleased to find several frames that I liked all at prices I expected (between $120 and $220). Frames at Sam's are the same price.
I sat down with Inez and she gave me her opinion on the frames. I was making a major switch in style so I needed some personal guidance. She was very patient, we tried on three pairs, and I agreed with her opinion on which frames to choose. I was pleased that she did not try to upsell me to the most expensive frames. She and I both liked the least expensive frames. I appreciated that. My prescription is for progressive lenses with high-index glass, and Inez made sure I chose frames that would accommodate my prescription.
They have three lens packages, with different types of material and coatings. Inez recommended a lower priced package. When I asked her if I was missing anything by not getting the higher-priced lens package, she steered me back to the lower priced lenses and said I did not need the higher priced lenses and she would not recommend them. I thought that was admirable that, again, she did not automatically try to upsell me.
I ordered the glasses on a Friday. She said it would be two to two-and-a-half weeks for delivery. The glasses came in one day short of two weeks. I was very happy about that. The final cost was a bit less than LensCrafters, more than Sam's, but I do not trust Sam's after a bad experience. You get what you pay for and I am very satisfied. Not only did I get a quality product but I received excellent, personalized service. I feel very good about Millennium Eye Care and would not hesitate to recommend them.
I recommend this place! Yesterday was my first appointment there and everyone from checking in to checking out was amazing. The doctor and staff were knowledgeable and accommodating, I felt welcomed and well taken care of. My son was also seen last week and he also was very satisfied.
Wow. Just tried to make an appointment on the phone as a new patient(freehold office)...Lady at front desk was so unfriendly and so rude. Pretty much unhelpful and nasty...She should not be working as a receptionist dealing with patients. Will find another ophthalmologist. If she acts like this to people, does everyone else in the office act like this???
I had a special type of eye examination done at the Freehold office on Sept. 5, 2025. It is now Sept. 17, 2025, and I have not received any information from them. No calls, no e-mails...nothing. I've tried calling their office, but no one answers, no matter what extension you try to connect to. That includes the one for setting a new appointment with them. Their customer service is absolutely horrible. Someone there is not doing their job and someone there needs to be fired.
I've been going to Millennium Eye Care since 2006. Opthamologist Dr. Ng. Is very thorough with my exams. She performed laser surgery on one of my retinas a couple of years ago right in the office, with no issues. This is a full service facility and they offer both early and late hours. The staff is not always the friendliest but they do. a good job. I don't buy my eyeglasses here because the prices are not competitive. They also have several other locations in South and Central N.J.
They are in network with my insurance but good luck getting a hold of anyone. The phone rings and waited on hold for over 6 mins just to be sent to a voice mail which no one responds to. Poor service to say the least.
Millennium has been our eye care center for almost 25 years, but I had an especially extraordinary experience this summer, thanks to Dr. Adil Ahmed, who performed cataract surgery on me. He was patient and throrough in the initial examination, and explained in a user-friendly manner the surgical and treatment plan. All of the preparation and testing appointments were handled expertly and compassionately by every one in the continuum of care, and the day of the surgery was certainly no exception. By the day after the surgery, my vision was at a 20/20 level - incredible! And the follow-up appointments with both Dr. Brottman and Dr. Ahmed were smooth sailing and uplifting. Dr. Ahmed is the epitome of a highly competent, personable and positive physician whose "patient-first" approach to his profession is peerless!
