Robert C. Messinger, OD

Dr.Messinger is an extremely pleasant doctor with a wonderful bedside manner, and excellent at what he does. I was seen quickly, felt welcome, and comfortable throughout my entire appointment. I was initially a bit worried reading some of the reviews here about the front desk not being very friendly, but I actually found the lady to be very helpful, professional, and communicative. This was a wonderful experience and I left very satisfied. I will definitely be frequenting here, and will be sure to recommend this doctor and office to friends and family as well.

I have visited doctors office couple of months before and the doctor is very good and his bed side manners were good. However, the receptionist was very non-responsive. I have reached out to Doctors office for my medical bill and provided all the information that they have asked for. I went through this drill not once but thrice and they have noted down all the informationand promised to call me back to provide the bill, which never happened. The one answer, which I always get is she is very busy and cant provide me any information no matter what time or day I call, which I highly doubt. At-least have the courtesy to call your patients as promised. Here I am trying to pay the bill and the last thing I want is you guys sending the medical bill to the address I no longer live and that going to impact my credit. I have also got a summary of what I owe from my insurance and can't believe you cant spend couple of minutes to a patient who has been trying to pay the bill. This is really disappointing and please learn to respect the time of others!!

Dr. Messinger is the best! So patient and professional. EXCELLENT "people skills!" Listens and doesn't make you feel rushed during appointments or over the phone. I wish all my Doctors had his personality and ability.

Dr. Messinger is a great doc! Great bedside manner, great communication, and his expertise in the field is bar none. Loved the amount of care and diligence he put into the exam. His prescription was spot on. Unfortunately, all the good stuff ends with the doc. His front office is exactly opposite of him. I felt pressured into buying frames from them. They don't have a good collection of frames. So I asked if they would be able to get a frame of my liking. They could not. Fine. Not a big deal. I would have probably bought my glasses online and have them do my lenses. So, I asked them to measure my Pupillary Distance. They did. But they didn't offer to give me my own prescription. I asked if I could take a picture of it and the lady sitting at the front desk tells me they can't because its a legal paper. What! Anyways, I asked them to write it for me. She said that if I wanted the PD, then I will have to pay for it. Why is the doc office working like an optical store? They get paid by my insurance for all the tests, but still want to drain every single penny out of my pocket! Go see the doctor. He is good. The office and the way the office works -- not so good. After you see a doctor, go to an optical store and ask them to measure your PD. If you have to pay more, why not support an honest business

I came on a day where some of the team was out and Dr. Messinger was both taking patients and handling the front desk. He remained professional, didn't rush me, and provided humor throughout the exam. Thank you Dr. Messinger!

My experience here was 10/10. The woman working the front desk was so knowledgeable and easy going. The Dr. knew what he was doing and was of the funniest doctors I've ever encountered. Overall amazing experience will recommend all my friends to go here!

Front desk woman was rude and seemed annoyed the entire time I was there. I gave her my insurance card, and she kept asking me who it was through, I told her I didn't know I just have UnitedHealth care. I ended up calling the insurance myself just to find out they don't accept my insurance. I am confused as to why they couldn't have figured that out before I wasted my time going down there. There are plenty of other offices in this area that actually care about their patients. Don't waste your time.

The most unprofesstion, aggressive, temperamental doctor that I've ever encountered. My elderly mother went for an eye exam October 2021. She needed new lenses, so she opted to keep the her original frames. Paid the total cost of the glasses, plus she handed 2 extra frames for a sunglasses quote. My mother specifically said, tell me the cost first, If she can afford it, then she'll okay sending them to be made. 2 weeks later, I go pick up her glasses, and Dr. Messinger shows me 3 pairs, her prescription glasses plus 2 sunglasses, charging us $180! I told him my mother simply asked for a quote and told the secretary to call for approval before any work was done. He got so angry that he grabbed both sunglasses and slammed them in the garbage. He threw them so hard that they broke apart. I took mothers glasses and l left. His secretary was out sick, she had told mother that she was going to retire. Dr. Messinger should not only retire immediately but also take anger management courses. I'm considering suing him for the cost of mothers frames.
