Horizon Eye Care

My whole family have have been going to Horizon Eye Care for over 43 years and we wouldn't trade them for anyone else. Through the years we've had a few doctors who have retired and now we've been with with doctor Vivadelli for quite awhile and she's great we love her too pieces. The whole staff that work there are great we highly recommend them very highly.

Dr. Mazur was a delightful person to meet. My detailed eye exam made me feel very confident about the glasses I'll be getting in two weeks. I look forward to seeing her in the future. Julie Robbin's who helped with choosing frames and explained all my options was so knowledgeable, patient and personable. All in all the total experience was marvelous.

I had been diagnosed with PVD at Wills Eye emergency room. Two days later, I developed new symptoms. Horizon gave me an appointment to see a doctor the same day, for which I was very grateful! I have been a patient for many years, and I am always very happy with the care I receive.

Updated October 27, 2025 - I went to the optical department at Costco and had a much more thorough exam by the ophthalmologist at Costco. She spent almost 45 minutes with me conducting various tests and explaining things very thoroughly to me. Interestingly, the ophthalmologist dilated my eyes after my eye chart exam so my vision would not be blurry when I read the eye charts and other optical charts, which was different when I had my eyes examined at horizon And why I had difficulty reading the eye charts they administered to me. When the Ophthalmologist was finished, my eye prescription was significantly different than the prescription provided to me by the optometrist that I saw at Horizon. I told my wife what happened, and she said that she is going to cancel her appointment at Horizon and go to Costco or another eye doctor's office, instead. The office staff were very nice. I was not happy with the optometrist who examined my eyes. He spent probably a total of about five minutes with me in the exam room, and he was a bit arrogant. My previous examinations at other optometrist and ophthalmologist offices were much more thorough. As a result, I will not be returning.

I went to Horizon Eye Care for my annual visit. Dr Doughten and the staff were friendly, informative and efficient. Dr Doughten did a thorough exam and addressed a couple of concerns and updated my glasses and contact prescriptions. I was very happy with my experience.

Walked in to this place on 10/13/25 looking for help. I live in MD but have a place in OC on the north end. Went up to check on our place due to the storm, forgot to bring contacts (had my Rx glasses only). The lady at the desk said that since they deal with this all summer they couldn't help. And she certainly indicated that they stock contacts. Explained that I'm happy to pay whatever and have a copy of my Rx on my phone to show. She did seem to agree with me that my glasses were covered in rain drops. Although I had to drive a little further, I managed to find a great place off of 9 called Point Optical. The doc and his staff made sure to help me out. Looked at my Rx and gave me a pair and even hooked me up with a sample solution/case to get me by. Sometimes it's kind of nice having these experiences so you know where NOT to go.

Have been a patient of Horizon Eye Care for over 35 years. I wouldn't go anywhere else. All of the doctors and staff are wonderful!

Very efficient staff everyone was very cordial and friendly! The wait time, however, to get in was a little long, but considering we're into the holiday season, it probably is unusual As in past visits, I was taken in right away. I would highly recommend Horizon Eye Care
