Opsin Eye Care

We were charged over $200 above our expected out of pocket costs for services not covered by insurance, without any prior notification or consent. There was no transparency about these additional charges before the services were provided. When we brought this to their attention, the response we received was, "We're sorry, she should have said something, she's new." Being new is not an acceptable excuse for failing to clearly communicate costs, especially in a healthcare setting where pricing should be discussed upfront. If you value transparency, professionalism, and honest billing practices, I would strongly suggest choosing a different optical provider. We've had far better experiences at Jan's in Oakhurst, where pricing is clearly explained and you don't leave feeling taken advantage of!

Dr Gahbour was amazing! Was was very impressed how knowledgeable she was with all my concerns. She took the time to make sure she addressed my issues and questions and set me on the path to being better! Highly recommended!

I have been going to Opsin for as long as I have been wearing glasses. I have never had to publicly write a review like this before which upsets me. For years this place has had great service but my recent visit left me feeling so dehumanized. The lady helping me was very unprofessional, bossy, rude, and gave me the impression that she had better things to do than assist me. Once again -- I've never had any issues here before. But this one experience with the rudest customer service lady was beyond what I could even fathom from here. Very upsetting to see someone like this hired.

Reading the reviews others have is the reason I'm posting this. I've ordered several high priced glasses that NEVER look the same when they come. My last pair were $500 and the glasses came apart. The man who helps adjust the glasses is rude. The girl that sells the glasses never gives the right info... this is a shame because now I have to go to their competitor. The Drs and front staff are so good! It's really a shame.

The exam was fine, but the lenses and glasses do not last long. The lenses scratch up very easily and the left arm screw housing separated from the rest of the left arm. My last 3 glasses were much better, but my prescription keeps changing unfortunately. Buy your glasses elsewhere, is my suggestion.

I was not happy with this place the moment I walked in and I should have followed my instinct. They did not offer a retina scan. The pediatric optometrist had no personality besides seeming like she had better places to be and bored. The girl who was teaching my son how to use contacts was very nice but did not wear them herself because she couldn't touch her eye but she's teaching my kid. My son was getting the contacts in quickly but he was having trouble getting them out. I wore contacts for decades and I know at first how hard it is. You need PRACTICE. They said four times and have to wait until next year. Really?? Cause a year is going to make that easier??? Absolutely ridiculous. Would not recommend this place to anyone and how they have such good reviews is beyond me.

A BIG THANK YOU to Dr. McAleese & his staff. From a thorough exam to explaining my glaucoma test results, to seeing better from an outdated prescription and helping me pick out a new pair of prescription sunglasses and eyeglasses. Much appreciated!!
