Dr. Kevin Geiger was excellent and thorough and very nice. However, front desk staff was extremely rude and responded to questions with noticeable attitude. I was not given a receipt for my acuve order and I had to request one and wait an extra 15 minutes for her to print it out. I hardly (if ever) leave bad reviews, but this was an exceptionally terrible experience and people should know about it. If you're thinking about coming here, be mentally prepared for a bad attitude and slow front desk service.
I have been coming here since I was a kid and I guess as a kid you don't really understand or see much, but as I started getting older I started to realize how rude the staff was. I used to see Dr. Geiger and he was amazing. For some reason I was changed to the other one and he made every visit a dread. The people who deals with the glasses part were also very rude, I remember being 8/9 years old and them giving me a hard time as if I was their child, very unprofessional. I used to love this place, even paid to be seen by them when they stopped taking my insurance because of how well their care was. I think it's just all businesses in Perth Amboy going down hill.
Shop local when you can, especially here. It's a true gem with a boutique vibe in downtown Perth Amboy. They offer a great selection of designer frames and I couldn've gotten better service. I mean, Millie was so attentive she made me feel more like family than a walk-in. I had an all-around great experience here. I will return next year.
This place used to be good, nothing to do with the doctors, but all with the office people, I always make sure when I go a doctor that they are on my insurance network, also when I make an appt I like to ask if they take my insurance just for an extra confirmation, so I make my appt go, was there 10 mins. Before my appt, first there was no pen to sign in and the only lady sitting in the office was minding her business just scrolling on her phone while I said excuse me several times until I had to basically scream to catch her attention, after that had to wait other 30 minutes for the same lady that actually has a face like she hates her job to tell me that they do not take my insurance, after explaining I had confirmed before my appt. Really missed the old office team they used to have.
just finished leaving the office & honestly i'm disgusted on how i was just treated . my appointment was for 2:45 & it's now 3:26 and they waited all this time to tell me that i needed to go elsewhere because i wrote a review 4 yrs ago on how i waited about two months to receive my glasses . he was very rude especially in front of daughters who were in the room with mei honesty don't recommend this place at all . if you knew you weren't going to see me from the beginning you should of never waisted my time by booking an appointment for me to begin with !
Dr . Kevin D. Geiger , is an excellent , knowledgeable, compassionate and caring Doctor , who listens and takes his time to thoroughly examine his patients . However , the staff at the eye glasses department is a very rude staff . The technician who fills the script , and dispenses the eyeglasses , was inflexible , and had a haughty attitude . I Do not recommend this place for purchasing eyeglasses . For purchasing eye glasses I recommend Boscov at Woodbridge Mall . Their prices are awesome and their service is excellent .
Do not recommend this place my mother took some Gucci frames to get magnifying lens glass installed. When she picked up she noticed it that they gave her the wrong frames. Every unprofessional and did not solve the issue stoled my moms Gucci frames.
I am only giving this one star because I have to click something, but my opinion on this place is ZERO stars.
I had a horrible experience at this doctor's office.
1. I had a routine eye exam. Dr. Geiger fitted me for contact lenses. I had to wait about a month for the lenses to come in. When I went to try on the trial pair, I noticed that my right eye was way off. The doctor said that he incorrectly entered my prescription into the order. How can I trust a doctor that makes such a careless mistake? Strike one.
2. The doctor offered to let me go home with the left lens and he also gave me a different right lens for a contact brand that he carried in his office. It was very uncomfortable to wear two different lens, so I continued to wear my old lenses. I had to go away on business trip without a backup pair of lenses because of this doctor's mistake.
3. The following month my trial pair lenses were ready. I noticed that they were very thick and uncomfortable so I asked the doctor to fit me into more comfortable lenses. I had to wait another 3 weeks for those lenses. I had to go on vacation without a back-up pair of lenses again.
4. When I returned from vacation, I picked up the more comfortable lenses and they were not right. I noticed that the receptionist had wrote R and L on the wrong lenses. Again, how can I trust a doctor's office that makes such a careless mistake?
5. Finally I asked that they just order a full year supply of the thick lenses because at this point I just could not wait to be DONE with this office. It was going to take another month for those lenses to be ready. You may wonder why I continued to go back to this office. Well, it was because I got a new vision insurance plan at work and I did not realize that my doctor that I love and trust was out of network. I lost my eye exam because I spent it here and I was in desperate need of contact lenses. I don't think this office even cared.
6. Next, I developed a severe stye infection in my left eye. I believe that it was a result of wearing 3 month lenses. I have never in my life worn lenses for so long and I have been wearing contacts since I was 15 years old. Over 12 years. I asked Dr. Geiger if the old lenses caused the infection and of course he told me no. But I didn't think he would admit that to me anyways. The stye infection left a chalazion that I have to have surgically removed. Who knows how much that will cost.
7. Finally I went to the office to pick up my year supply of contact lenses. I had to wait 20 mins for the receptionist to locate the lenses. You would think that all contact lenses would be stored in an organized manner. I went home and opened the box to find only three pairs included when I had ordered 4 pairs. When I called the office to complain, the receptionist got snappy with me. What happened to customer service? She told me that my trial pair was deducted from the box that I ordered. THE TRIAL PAIR WHERE I WAS WEARING TWO DIFFERENT CONTACT LENSES? THE TRIAL PAIR WHERE I HAD TO WAIT ANOTHER MONTH TO RECEIVE THE RIGHT MATCHING LENS? Never have I ever had a trial pair of lenses deducted from my actual order. This is stealing and THEFT.
8. I am very unhappy with this doctor's office. I am telling all of my friends and family to never EVER go to this office. This is how they treat people in the hood! They don't care about the community. All they want is the insurance money. You have to be careful of the people that come into your hood to make money. They have their best interest at heart. The only reason why I took out the time to write this long review is because I actually care about the community and I don't want anyone else to suffer by misleading reviews. Otherwise I am busy and don't have time. I will be contacting my insurance company for that extra pair of lenses. They think I'm stupid and they think they can take advantage of me. Sorry I'm smarter than that.
