Dr. Mark A. Friedberg, MD

RUN from this doctor!!! He botched my cataract surgery and now I have blurry vision, almost constant pain, extremely watery eye, and other weird problems! The whole experience was horrible! I came out of a very long surgery with a VERY bloody eye which is not normal. This was a straightforward surgery with no complicating issues. Also I should have had astigmatism taken care of at the same time, which I requested, but he assured me that it was unnecessary and I would have perfect vision post-op without it. Not true! Not to mention that he was not very nice, but that was the least of my complaints. Office is also dumpy and equipment far from state of art. I later had cataract surgery on the other eye with another surgeon and it was a piece of cake with wonderful results. The difference was night and day!

I love Dr. Friedberg. He gave me perfect vision after wearing very thick glasses my entire life. He corrected my eyes with cataracts lenses that give me sight both far and near. Dr. Friedberg is experienced and gifted.I highly recommend Dr. Friedberg.

Would highly recommend. Dr. Friedberg is efficient and knowledgeable and his team is great. I had been to a few different doctors for cataract surgery and he is the only one who put a plan together that worked despite my personal complications. Surgery was easy and instructions for recovery were simple and straightforward.

I lost my vision due to detached retina. I was seen immediately and in surgery 2 days later. The staff is wonderful, always doing everything possible to help me.

Dr Mark Friedberg is the best!! He's extremely knowledgeable and works with his staff like a well oiled machine. He has done surgery on my eyes as well as my spouse and some friends all with an expected excellent outcome! Good luck!

Never having an eye problem, last month I was confronted with a major eye issue. My ophthalmologist sent me to Dr Friedberg where he diagnosed a double tear and detachment of my retina and major vision loss. I was in surgery the very next day. The doctor saved my vision. I can't praise and thank Dr Friedberg enough for saving my vision. I will be forever grateful. I also wanted to praise his staff who were compassionate and caring. I would highly recommend him and his office to anyone seeking special eye care.

I had surgery for a whole in my retina and it went great. Dr Friedberg did a terrific job. After my follow up visit he was very happy with the results, and so was I (eye). The staff was very helpful and reassuring. It was a very good experience and I certainly will recommend him and his staff to anyone that requires eye surgeries.

I was referred in haste to this office after initially seeing their sister office in Old Bridge. They thought I might have an issue with my right eye and wanted me to see him asap. I called up and was grateful to get to see the dr as it could have been a major issue with my eye. The staff wasn't the rudest by far, at least not from what I'm seeing from other reviews. I thought they were great, yes the one older staff person really didn't want to be bothered with small talk and didn't seem like she was having a good day. It's ok as that happens to all of us. Aside from that I thought the staff was excellent, especially Sara whom helped me with the paperwork as I couldn't see. That's the other thing. The staff didn't seem at all to grasp the concept that I came in already with my eyes dilated, just like other patients, and didn't seem to care that I couldn't see the forms. That really upset me actually. Sara stepped in did great and was so nice and helpful. The wait time was great, no Other issues until I see the dr. He seemed very nice at first and warm and inviting until he started his exam. He was all business which I appreciate very much. What really upset me and I thought was shocking and unacceptable was when he put this magnifying glass on my eye ball and it hurt. I struggled to sit still and he got annoyed that I moved my head a little. He was visibly getting upset and started to get quick with me. This is beyond wildly unacceptable as it was a very nerve wracking exam and I told him twice it hurt and he couldn't care less. This immediately left a bad taste in my mouth. But he did apologize and I appreciate that. He was extremely thorough and did a really comprehensive exam. He explained everything and thank you Jesus there were no issues no surgery etc. overall not the worst experience but this Dr seriously needs to calm down, improve the bedside manners and understand that not all patients will fully trust a new dr poking and prodding their eye balls right away. The other thing is that the office looked like something out of silent hill. Old disgusting grimy etc. this also made me very nervous. It was already a nerve wracking experience to say the least but overall I'm not sure I will come back. The staff was great aside from minor issues, but the dr getting annoyed with me for being in pain is just unbelievable. The other reviews saying this are right
