I was a customer of Dr. Freed for 2 years, but my experience today with a non enthusiastic female receptionist may have changed that.
When I walked in and had a question about the eye test I was responded to with "it's always this..." and then another comment about "the test will take longer if you keep pulling away", then after an amazing consultation with Dr Freed, the rude female handed me my script and stared at me, I asked her if I was able to pick out glasses and she said "I guess", then, she got back up and showed me over to the glasses and continued to correct me when I asked her if I have a stipend. She goes its not a stipend, irs an allowance. It felt like the whole time she needed to be right and enjoys correcting customers.
Funny enough, last year I did think the same receponist was rude when I called to reschedule and told her I traveled a lot and she goes "who travels for 2 months at a time".
Ultimately, I walked out with my script and went to another location to get my glasses. I highly suggest you do not go here if you don't want to be greeted by a rude receptionist who hates their job.
I can corroborate other's reviews that this practice is unprofessional and incompetent. I called and spoke to the male receptionist last week, asked whether the doctor would be able to perform a specific service, he told me he would check, came back, said yes, and then booked me an appointment. I show up a week later for said appointment and am informed by a female tech/receptionist that they actually cannot do the appointment/service that I was booked for and originally told by the male receptionist that they could. I took half a day off of work for this - what a waste.
Male receptionist was very nice and professional and informative answered all my questions..Dr freed was awesome as always been going there for many years great place.
I normally dont do reviews unless it is terribly bad or exceptionally great. In this case, the receptionist guy was unprofessional. Had to repeat everything and even after spelling out my name with common names/words, he still kept misspelling. When I asked him about my coverage, he asked "what is the question?"
I have been here few yrs ago and everything went smoothly. Today when I called, he just seems like he's half asleep or annoyed that i am calling. If you are not interested in communicating, dont do these kinds of jobs! Million options out there to accommodate your lazy attitude.
Dr. Freed is one the best optometrists I've ever been to. My friend and I have been going there for the last 10 years and live about an hour away and it is well worth the drive. The doctors and staff are great at helping us pick out glasses. Both doctors take their time and make sure that our contacts are fitted properly. The office and equipment are super clean and sanitary. She has been amazing with understanding my current eye issues and always does a thorough intake history. She is very understanding and empathetic as she takes the time to explain everything and give multiple options. Definitely will be a lifelong patient.
Overall a really good experience. It was my first time there and the person I spoke to on the phone to make a (last minute) appointment was great--very courteous and helpful. Once I got there, I didn't have to wait to be called, they saw me at the time of my appointment, I felt the Dr really knew her stuff and overall felt like I was cared for and treated right. The only exception would be the front desk. She just had an attitude. I don't know if she was having a bad day or I asked too many questions but, felt like she thought SHE was doing ME a favor just by being there! Definitely not the same person I spoke to a few hours before the visit. The tech/pre screen was fine and, again, the Dr. was great. So, it would have been a 5 star rating if the office help recognized that "customers/patients" help to pay her salary. It would have been less than a 3 star rating if the tech and Dr. had the same attitude as the front desk person.
This doctor allowed me to see the world clearly. The office is so friendly. The wait time is short. The selection of glasses frames they have is amazing. And that both the doctor and the staff members do all that they can to make sure that you are comfortable and that your vision is the best it can be. I love this place, definitely recommend to everyone I know.
First time getting an eye exam. Excellent staff. Doctor was exceptional to say the least. After examination, explained treatment in detail. Very friendly and warm environment. Great experience as a first timer. Highly recommend!
