I am very pleased to leave this review for Dr. Shin's office, including her entire team who are the most kind and diligently professional team of individuals I've had the pleasure of working with to achieve a medical necessity. I have been having multiple issues with different providers, trying to establish care and proper treatment, thankfully upon visiting Dr. Shin's office I believe I have established that care they will now be the only team that will be working on my eyes! Thank you, all! I'm going to now refer to this team as my eyeball avengers. And I am most grateful!

Highly recommend Dr. Lisa Shin! She is thorough and knowledgeable. She takes the time to explain everything clearly and makes you feel completely at ease. The office is friendly and efficient, and the care is top-notch. If you're looking for an excellent optometrist in Los Alamos, Dr. Shin is fantastic.

Dr. Shin was professional, caring, and very thorough in the treatment of her patients. She listened to me, answered all my questions, and provided information on supplements to improve me vision. After my eye exam, Dr. Shin reviewed the results and further sent me a follow- up email to discuss her findings and provide advice on what I can do to maintain my eye health. Her staff was friendly, courteous, and prompt.

If I gave five stars, Dr. Shin would get it. I've been seeing Dr. Shin for about 15 years from when she diagnosed and cured an excruciating case of iritis which the other local practice misdiagnosed. Her exams are thorough; she explains what she's doing and why. You can have an in-depth ophthalmology exam checking the health of the eye, or a more modest exam to figure out a new prescription. And she is accessible with appointments available usually within two or three weeks rather than months required for appointments with other ophthalmologists in the area. She does not do surgery, but can refer for surgery. Dr. Shin also emails the medical images from the exam within a couple days for your personal records. The staff is patient and informed. I recommend Los Alamos Family Eye Care.

Got my eyeglasses last Wed, July 2, and I am loving it!! Gotta give a shout out to Lisa Shin and to her amazing staff To Sarah for helping me pick a few pairs of eyeglasses for me to choose from. Aside from Lisa, she is knowledgeable about frames and face shapes. To Marci for her patience working with me on my Optum Card. To Lydia, the great assistant, also my second-eye. It's so nice to have a great hometown eye doctor. Los Alamos Family Eye Care/Lisa Shin services are wonderful. High tech equipment and options to select which high-tech imaging you prefer with information on the benefits and costs of each. Allows you to opt out of dilation with the other imaging options available. Easy to schedule appointments and they are timely!

Dr Shin has been our family's eye doctor for many years. My daughter has Keratoconus (a progressive disease of the cornea/lens, where the cornea wrinkles and deforms into a cone shape), which Dr Shin diagnosed many years ago. Recently, Diane was in a car accident, after which her vision became worse. After examining my daughter, Dr. Shin wrote a referral to Dr. Himmel, an ophthalmologist & eye surgeon, who in turn referred my daughter to an eye surgeon/specialist, Dr. Puente, whose expertise includes performing eye surgeries on children. Dr. Michael Puente reshaped both my daughter's corneas and stabilized them, using a procedure which is relatively new to the USA, corneal cross-linking. On a recent eye exam with Dr. Shin, after my daughter's surgery, she stated, Diane shows "remarkable improvement in her BCVA (OD 20/100, OS 20/80)." - Our family thanks the entire team for helping our daughter, who has Down syndrome, see better. What a great gift!
