Newcastle Eye Hospital

I was recently treated by Dr Anthony Hall at Newcastle Eye Hospital and I honestly couldn't have asked for better care. I had a small retinal bleed that was very difficult to find, right at the back of the eye. Dr Hall took his time, carefully examined both the upper and lower retina, identified the bleed and treated it with laser. The whole procedure was comfortable and I felt completely safe the entire time. His bedside manner is exceptional; calm, clear, kind, and very thorough in his explanations. You can tell he genuinely cares about his patients, not just their eyes. It's also worth mentioning that he has done extensive volunteer work with the Fred Hollows Foundation in Africa, donating his time to care for vulnerable people who would otherwise have no access to treatment. That says a lot about his character. If you're in Newcastle, the Hunter, Lake Macquarie or the Central Coast and need an ophthalmologist who is both highly skilled and genuinely compassionate, I would recommend Dr Anthony Hall without hesitation.

I had a serious retina detachment with a damaged macula and was operated on by Dr Davies.The practice staff are very professional and Dr Davies is the most outstanding doctor I have ever had. He genuinely cares about his patients outcomes and he is an outstanding surgeon and my result was positive when the prognosis was very grim. I have full vision back.

This is one of the best organised facilities I have ever experienced. All the staff are very well trained and delightful to interact with. They are a true gift to our city and region.

If I could give 100 stars I would. Every single contact I had at Newcastle Eye Hospital on each occasion showed that the staff truly care about their patients. I was kept informed every step of the way which is very comforting and the Hospital runs like a well oiled machine, on time and super organised. Dr Davies is so excellent at what he does. He removed my cataracts and because of his amazing work I now have 2 eyes with 20/20 vision after wearing glasses since I was 4 years old. Words can't express how very grateful I am. Thank you to Dr Davies and all those I came into contact with. You are all fantastic.

I have just had my second cataract surgery at Newcastle Eye hospital. The professionalism of the hospital and staff is outstanding. The kindness and care of the nurses is a credit to all who work there. Nothing was too much trouble. The surgery by Dr Peter Davies was trouble free and the follow up from the hospital that all was going well was excellent.

Dr Davies and dr Hall and colleagues provide a much needed service to the community. We found the hospital, staff and doctors to be efficient, pleasant, and the clinical safety systems/expertise are comprehensive and as good as any in the health sector. Newcastle is fortunate.

I have just had cataract surgery to both eyes. Prior to this surgery I was extremely anxious about the procedure. I wish to thank the entire team at all levels for a professional and caring approach.
