Staff here is amazing and a special shout out to Melody and Victoria who helped train me for contact lenses. They were very patient and were able to communicate super effectively to make sure I was able to really understand. Also Dr. Sherman was amazing and fit me into contacts that suited my lifestyle. They offered me a great deal with the contacts with a $300 rebate as well so it made it much more affordable! Would recommend to family and friends 10/10

I had been a customer for more them 10 years, but recently I had my worst experience at the bay shore location. They make a mistake with my prescription and no one apologize and they took to long to correct my prescription. I would never come back to starling optical. The manager was no helpful that's why her people can do they job correctly.

I've been coming here for almost 5 years, and this place has gone downhill fast. They got my prescription wrong FOUR times and then tried to charge me for their mistake. I had to involve a supervisor just to fix it. I also paid for blue light protection and they refused to give it to me. Completely unprofessional and a waste of time. Do not go here. This place should be shut down due to same situation in the reviews.

Doctor is excellent. The staff is terrible. Had to go to the bathroom and was treated like garbage as a paying customer. I should have been treated with more respect than I was treated today. They have a lost a client for the bathroom.

Was upsold lenses that I did not need or understand. They try to give you the top of the line glasses, lenses and trick you into thinking you have no choice. I have also been waiting a month for my glasses as they made them wrong the first time. I will never go to Sterling again!!

Everyone at this place, from the doctor to the staff, is super nice and clearly cares about their patients. Their eyewear selection is great, and the team really knows how to navigate the insurance stuff without any hassle.

Please beware of this place. They are great on selling but horrible in customer service. In my father's first visit to an optometrist after years of NOT having eye insurance he gets fleeced by Sterling. The salesmen (Jenny) upsold him on everything possible. He asked to be shown glasses (Prada) included within his insurance plan. In the end, he said he was charged approximately $1400 because he was never offered frames or lens that are included within his plan. Please check the other recent reviews, you'll see similar stated issues, they will steer you into paying more than what your insurance provides. This place will take advantage of if you let them. I included a photo of their return policy as an FYI. Contractually, we'll buy the ($1400 ) glasses. When we pick up the glasses, we expect to see all paperwork ,billing details including his insurance coverage. Failure to do so means we'll investigate how to protect other people from your business with the BBB, customer complaints/consumer protections, and New York State Professional Practice for Optometry regrading " Fee disputes" "To avoid these complaints, optometrists should: 1)Clarify the billing conditions, including insurance coverage if applicable, with the patient at the outset of the evaluation and treatment, and specify the financial arrangements in terms that the patient can understand. 2)Explain to the patient all costs involved with their treatment, including co-payments and expenses that are not covered by insurance. It would be useful to have a written policy in place which is signed by patients to indicate their understanding of the costs involved for their evaluation and treatment and for the optometrist and the patient to develop an individualized payment agreement in advance of treatment when the patient must pay for non-covered expenses. "

This has been my go to place for glasses for a couple years now and I absolutely love the doctor, she's very nice and attentive. The sales associates are always very nice and kind. Chase helped me pick out a beautiful pair of Versace glasses with transition lenses and blue blocker coating for a great price too! She was so informative and so helpful. I normally hate going out and running these types of errands but coming here is always a pleasant experience.
