Wait times were long and , even with an appointment and the threat of a cancellation fee (and even threat of a charge for not responding to the reminders) many multiple times before each appointment. Dr. Nichols was pleasant, but always rushed and never remembered my case from one visit to the next. Almost got surgery on the wrong eye once. He is only in each location once a month. Unless you can wait you have to travel to him. Each office was a totally different experience. Hauppauge was the nicest, and at least we got to change rooms while waiting. It gave the illusion of a shorter wait but we were still there an hour before seeing the doctor. Brentwood was awful. Crowded and felt like the building was under construction. Port Jeff was okay... crowded and long wait but what you would expect from a busy LI office. Wasn't going to leave a meh review, but they kept pushing me to leave one. Seems the most efficient part of the practice is the sms reminder system. Its unrelenting. Had an appt 2 months out. I got an immediate text, one at 1 month, one at 1 week, and one the day before. I don't know why I put it in my calendar.

Dr. Nichols was very nice. The wait was not long at all. He explained what he was gping to do and why. He is only in the Bayshore office once a month but that is fine for me.

I went in for an initial consult for surgery. The office was very busy but well run. I meet 3 staff member responsible for different stages of my evaluation. And all were polite and efficient.
Dr Nichols demo strted an appropriate attention to my concerns and understanding of the surgery.
Lastly the coordinator mapped out scheduling leading up to the surgery.

The operation was quick and extremely professional. There was an issue with insurance approval, which occurred on the actual day of the operation and resulted in it being delayed by a week. Both sides claimed the other was at fault, but it got worked out. As far as the surgical team and follow up was concerned, it was excellent and very professional.

The visit was rushed, and it was interrupted three times. It was so rushed, she forgot to tell me about my prescription. I went to my car and had to go back inside to ask about it. They gave me drops and a coupon. The receptionist was very apologetic. Visits should not be interrupted unless there's an emergency. You pay for that time and it should be just that. Your time.
