Do yourself a favor; go to their Schenectady store. It is much cleaner and the employees are more friendly and helpful. Maybe I looked like LE or ICE but the attitude I got ranged from distrust to almost hostile. Instead of the advertised price of $95 for 2 glasses, with a free eye exam, I had to pay $213. Normally I would have left without buying the glasses but I only had two weeks before the eye benefit expired so I paid the extra out of pocket. I asked why I wasn't getting ad price of $95 and was shown chart showing all glasses had at least $69 extra charge added on. I said I would just get the one pair but was told it was more expensive if I only got one pair I returned about two weeks later, on Dec. 31, bc I hadn't heard from them, and asked if my glasses were in. The woman told me to come back later that day bc she was processing shipment of glasses. I saw about 6 pair on the desk so told her I would wait. Less than 10 minutes later, she slapped my glasses on the counter, saying there they are. No fitting to make sure frames fit me or that lenses improved vision. EDIT: The store manager called soon after and explained bifocals cost more but credited me the difference between my purchase price and the ad price I expected, as a customer accomodation. I wish the saleswoman who wrote up my order explained that to me because that is different than how their Schenectady store handled bifocals. I appreciate the company going the extra mile to satisfy a customer.

Went to the store in December to get glasses. Brought my script they did not do my exam.the two girls behind the desk that order my glasses where wonderful and helpful. Went out of their way They told me to call on the 8th of January 2026 glasses should be in. I called today and the lady on the phone made me feel like I was inconveniencing her. Maybe she was having a bad day. She is the first impression of American Best. I hope when I pick them up I get great service and my glasses are correct. I haven't been able to see for a bit now try to find a new caring eye place. I hope this is it.

This place is faster, cheaper, and more pleasant than any optometrist I have seen in maybe 10 years. Really nice people and fast friendly service. Recommended!

I have been going to this location for over 15 years and have little to no complaints. The two pair deal is great, just don't expect much use out of them if they're your day-to-day eye wear. Their upgraded lenses along with name brand frames have held up for years. You get what you pay for. As far as friendliness I'm yet to deal with anyone rude. For as much business they get I feel they do a pretty good job.

I had a great experience scheduling a same day appt online and I was seen right away when I arrived. Friendly staff and good selection of frames. The Dr was super knowledgeable and enthusiastic.

What a sweet experience I shared with Sharita! Not only is she personable and warming, she is wonderful at what she does. I appreciate her kindness and interactions. I absolutely recommend coming in and working with Sharita! She sized my glasses gracefully!! Thank you, America's Best for this experience. Your staff has all been so wonderful to me!!

I've been coming here for years with no issues. The eye doctors themselves always great. My wife went here on my recommendation 6/7/25 to be treated with instant dismissive disrespect by the receptionist, and the fitting consultant, just too busy on their cell phone to acknowledge her existence when all she wanted to do was pick up her new glasses. Insulting level of customer service. Suggestion to mgt., get better help before you ruin your franchise. Now you've lost two customers plus potentials.

I made an appointment to have my eyes examined today at 11:30 I walked into the store introduced myself and they told me that the eye exam is done remotely you do know that don't you. I have never heard of an eye exam being done remotely and after traveling 40 minutes to this place I was less than happy. I did say since I was there I was interested in looking at glasses and finding out about the pricing the people there were absolutely rude I wouldn't recommend that place to anyone save your time your money and your aggravation and go somewhere else this place sucks.
