I had a really great experience at America's Best. My glasses came out perfect, exactly what I was hoping for. The whole process was smooth and easy from start to finish.
Lupe was honestly the highlight of the visit. She was super helpful, patient, and made sure everything was right with my order. She took the time to answer my questions and helped me pick frames that actually look good on me. You can tell she really cares about the customers and wants them to leave happy.
I'm really happy with my glasses and the service I received. Big thanks to Lupe for making the experience so easy. I'll definitely be coming back and recommending this place to others.
I'm not even angry... just truly disappointed in the experience I've had at this location. Elmont NY.
For the first time in forever I've finally told myself I'll treat myself to a nice pair of glasses.
THIS WAS NOT THE PLACE TO GO TO!!!!!!!
I've paid almost $300 for the 2 for ($89) service.. just for my glasses to be the thickest I've ever seen them in 30 years of my life. I've even paid for the thinning service the "manager" recommended for me. Never have I ever gotten such thick lenses no matter how the frame looked.
Instead of offering solutions to fix the problem, she simply told me "you have the prescription right?, you can get a refund or go somewhere else." The amount of sarcasm was shocking.
Meanwhile I'm happy with the glasses frame and the new prescription. I didn't care for a refund, just another solution or recommendation.
Long story short, overall disappointed and upset.
I was recommended by my sister who attends the location in CT, unfortunately I somehow stumbled among this location and I regret it.
This is not America's best. I wish I never came here because I feel like I am now traumatized by my experience. Please, save your money for another store.

Staff is wonderful at the Hempstead location. I was not satisfied with the way my prescription looked. Everyone was attentive and went above and beyond to help me rectify my situation. This is the reason why I come to this location. Thanx Ms. Lupe & staff, you all are great.
If your like me, and getting up in age and finally realize, those readers from CVS or Walgreens are not the way to go. Give America's Best in Elmont NY a try. 2 pairs of glasses and a eye exam for $95.00 , and if you're a Veteran, they give 10% off. I got my exam, 2 pairs of correct prescription glasses all for $85.00. Easy and very thorough process, I will never go anywhere else. I highly recommend this eyeglass store, took me 7-10 days to pickup my glasses and I couldn't be Happier. Thank you America's Best
Wonderful experience! From the minute I walked in Tricia was so helpful. She explained the deals they have available and booked me an eye exam within a few days' time. My eye exam was as thorough, professional, and caring as my own ophthalmologist's office. The doctor even pointed out certain eye issues that I am aware of. I wear progressives so the clerk who fit me for my glasses took her time measuring my pupil distance. I was told my glasses would take 2-3 weeks the most and was notified 6 days later they were in!!! My glasses fit beautifully and I can SEE perfectly. I can't attest to the quality of the glasses yet but for the cost, service, and time the whole experience was priceless.
I recently visited the America's Best location in Elmont and encountered several operational concerns that seem to require direct management attention. The registration process took nearly an hour, not because of any system issue, but simply because the doctor was on break. Registration is an administrative step that should proceed independently, so the delay suggested a lack of workflow structure. The front desk associate appeared to be new, yet there was no visible supervision, coaching, or support to help her navigate basic tasks.
My insurance was not requested during check-in, even though I offered it. It was only asked for during the initial exam, and staff were unable to verify eligibility because my name had been entered incorrectly in the chart. The team seemed unfamiliar with the fundamentals of checking insurance, yet they continued with out-of-pocket tests without confirming coverage. Instead of calling the insurer themselves, I was told to make the call and verify eligibility on my own, despite the fact that I had already waited more than 90 minutes. When I connected the insurance representative, the staff were unable to answer routine questions, including providing their own store code.
These issues collectively indicate gaps in training, oversight, and basic administrative competence. While the doctor was professional and the only smooth part of the visit, the overall workflow from check-in to insurance handling would benefit from stronger systems, clearer protocols, and direct managerial support.
I bought three pairs of glasses last year, they start falling apart in less than a year due to poor quality. I went on three different occasions each time for different pair because the handles were tilted, every single time they refuse to help before even looking at what's wrong, telling me every time they can't do any thing for it because it will break. I went today requesting putting lenses ptitanoum pair I bought over the Internet , before even getting them out of the box, they said they can't put the lenses on the model. ,They Are The Least Helpful people in this in this industry period. They make it clear they Don't want to work
period
0 stars if I could!!!
Probably one of the worst establishments ever. I received a text on Saturday (10/28) stating my contact trial was ready and the Monday I received another that my glasses were ready. I went to America's best yesterday afternoon (11/02) to collect my glasses and they provided me with an old looking, grey cloth case with the glasses inside of it. So NO protection for your lenses. I asked the lady why is it not in an actual glasses case and she said that's the case it comes in.
After probably some self reflection when I looked at her like really? She asked me if I wanted one of the plastic cases and I said yes. Now upon collecting my glasses there was no mention of my contact trial lenses.
I went on home opened the plastic case the store associate gave me and realized there was no cloth to clean the glasses.
The following morning I received a call from America's best, to tell me that my glasses were ready. I responded by asking when did they know that because I was there yesterday. The representative told me they received it today and I said well I received a message since Saturday and I was there yesterday and no one told me anything about contact lenses. She said that's an automated system and that probably was a system error. So I told her about the missing cloth in the case and she said well I'm supposed to ask for one because it's not included in the promotion. Why should I ask for something my money paid for?? And hellooo why not state these things before customers purchase!
For those who are interested in their promotion, do not go for it! You get what you pay for, cloth case.. no microfiber cleaning cloth, no protection for your glasses, poor service and a waste of your precious time, gas and money!!
