Dr. Chiu was recommended to my mom for her dry eyes. When we visited her, my mom was told that she had a more serious problem that needed immediate attention--cataracts. We were told she needed surgery right away or she would go blind, so we scheduled the surgery immediately.
Because the doctor would be making money from the surgery, her attitude was attentive and seemed caring. However, after the surgery--when there was no longer real money to be made--you could clearly see a change in her attitude.
My mom continued to have dry eye problems, so we made an appointment specifically with Dr. Chiu (not her husband or the PA). We were told the appointment with Dr. Chiu would be at least a month out, which we patiently waited for because my mom trusted her after having both cataract surgeries done by her.
On the day of the appointment, we waited patiently for four hours past our scheduled time. When we finally saw her, we did not complain. Instead, it was the doctor who complained to us, saying that if we want to see her, the wait is four hours. She was not even remotely apologetic.
After about two minutes, she said there was nothing that could be done and told my mom to just use eye drops every day. She then left us with the remark that we should have opted to see the PA.
This doctor shows no care for her patients. Her bedside manner is comparable to that of a prison guard, on top of extreme overbooking.
PS: I do not believe those five-star ratings with one-line reviews like "Doctor is great" or "Best doctor."
The main issue was that the doctor refused to submit a prior authorization for a medically reasonable alternative and did not provide a clear explanation.
I have documented dry eye and sensitivity to certain glaucoma medications, yet my concerns were brushed off. The visit felt more about choosing the easiest option for insurance than what was best for the patient.
Communication was poor, and I left feeling unheard and unsupported. I will be seeking care elsewhere.
2-3 hrs wait time. Dr Wang refused to write me prescription for the eye glass he recommend. He wanted me to buy it right there. With no option i complied. However, they want me to pay only in CASH ($400) for the two eyeglass, which i dont have at the time. I therefore left the clinic without the prescription and the eye glass i much needed. Very bad service.
They ignore you and give the worse service.
Definitely not worth it and completely unorganized. The assistants did all the work and nobody to see you at all. 2 hour waits so if you don't value your time, and want to waste money come here.
Excellent, caring, and highly skilled doctors. They explain everything patiently and clearly. I recommend all my friends to Dr. Chu and Dr. Wang. Dr. Chu did my husband's cataract surgery.
Great brand new office with almost no wait. I had cataract surgery with Dr Wang and I can see 20/20 the next day. Excellent staff and very professional people.
Worst eye dr I ever seen, they scared me so I did my laser , they keep asking for money, stay away for this practice
Dr.Chu is the best eye doctor I have ever been to. Great service overall.
