I had an excellent experience at Sterling Optical in Hartsdale! My visit with Dr. Christina Lyon and her staff was incredibly educational and reassuring from start to finish.
Dr. Lyon took the time to thoroughly explain the entire process, my prescription, and all of the different options available to me. I truly appreciated how clearly she broke everything down and made sure I understood my choices. Her staff was just as attentive and patient, creating a welcoming and comfortable environment.
I never once felt rushed, and they took exemplary care of me. I left feeling confident and completely comfortable with my decision.
I highly recommend Sterling Optical and Dr. Christina Lyon to anyone looking for knowledgeable, thorough, and compassionate eye care!
Honestly, I hate writing bad reviews but very upset at the way I was treated. Walking into the store, there were three people. One young girl who was wonderful, she participated during my whole eye exam. A young man who eventually came to help me pick a pair of glasses, who was also very nice and welcoming. Lastly, an older lady who I was told was the owner. To make the story short, I went with the intentions of getting my eye exam and hoping to find a pair of glasses that I would like. That being said, the young man was very helpful showing me options. However, they didn't feel right for me. That being said as every human in this world knows if you don't like something don't buy it because you eventually won't wear it. So I decided to ask for my exam script that way I can buy the glasses I did like. I don't know if the owner was having a bad day and needed to target someone but she made her way into conversation between the sales associate and myself. I was very honest and said I didn't like anything I saw and I guess that pissed her off. I was being very appropriate and said I didn't like anything and she continued to argue with me and insisted at the fact that I needed to find something. She stated " well you don't like anything from everything we have that's impossible! You don't like anything because you've made up your mind on something else you saw. She continue to harassed me at this point by saying "I would appreciate people being more honest when booking their appointment" keep in mind, I went personally after work to make an appointment since I've never been there. Which what I got from what she said was if your not getting a pair of glasses your not entailed a visit.
At this point, I felt attack and responded I came here with the intention of getting new pair of glasses. I've seen a pair of glasses that I liked at LensCrafters. Unfortunately, they don't take my insurance due to the fact I change occupations. Which by the way I'm a nurse and is none of her business. At this point, she was being very rude. She answered me "well why didn't you go to LensCrafters, if you found something you like there"? Which at this point, I knew it was a mistake me stating the whole glasses at LensCrafters thing. She basically continued to harass me. I felt bad for the sales guy because I was trying to make something work for both of us that being said I was considering the fact of bringing an old pair of Toms Fords that I have at home and changing the lens there but with the way the OWNER was acting I refused to give her any of my money. Terrible sales tactic. Very hostile environment. So sad because again providers and ophthalmologist tech was wonderful, so was the young man who I'm assuming is a sales associate but that owner terrible. Never felt more uncomfortable in a place in my life. You would think she wasn't getting paid by my insurance for my eye exam or you would think I was asking for a free pair of something. Keep in mind they have VERY OLD SELECTIONS AND A VERY SMALL SELECTIONS OF NAME BRANDS. Not to sound entitled, but I do like my name branded things because they last longer. Which is none of her business. The only thing that owner had was bunch of name branded signs and no glasses to match those signs!! Maybe if the owner focused more on inventory she wouldn't have this issue. I was told many more uncomfortable things such as comments on my insurance, I would lose my deductible, that's absurd not getting a pair of glasses etc ... by the owner that I did not mention. That being said, take it with a grain of salt my bad experience could be a good experience for someone else. However, I will be telling people of my experience at this place! Again I feel bad for the workers because they were awesome! ALSO, attaching a picture of my Tom Fords from 2020 which were the same glasses she had in store and kept trying to push on to me but was upset I didn't curve. Also, these were the pair I was considering bringing to get a change of lens. Same glasses different shade of color.

I have been coming here for about 2 years now and brought the rest of my family in. Our vision has not only improved with the recommended lenses, but we all have been hitting nonstop complements once we walked out the door with our new glasses! Their selection is wide and vast, catering to our different face and nose shapes which is rare to find in other stores. The designs they have are incredibly unique and quality unmatched. From beginning to end their patient care is top notch. When you come here you feel known and taken care of. I cannot recommend this place enough!
I had a great experience at this place! I got prescription glasses made here and everything was excellent. The doctor is very kind, patient, and explains everything clearly. She really takes the time to find the best option for you. This is my second year coming back and I absolutely love it. I recommend this place 100%!
Perfect place incredible selection they helped me pick out the perfect frame. The lenses are far superior from lenses I have had at other places before. Staff is amazing. No pressure sales. The guy was kind and knowledgeable. They helped me navigate my insurance.
I just picked up a pair of sunglasses which were made using a frame from 1945 . They were my dads when he was in the Air Force and eventually the Korean War .
They are very delicate and needed " Special Care " . Rebecca did an Excellent job of cleaning away the accumulated " gunk " from all those years ago and placing the lenses in frame ever so carefully.
I truly appreciate the difficulty the job presented and how well it was handled.

Great store. The staff is friendly and accommodating. Largest selection of frames I've seen in a single store. The exam was very thorough and advanced. Looking forward to bringing my kids back for their eye exams and glasses. Thank you Sterling Optical- Hartsdale. Well done.
went here for my first pair of glasses and couldn't have been happier with my experience. the owner was delightful and so helpful in finding me frames that both fit comfortably and looked stylish!! i've been dreading getting glasses, but the owner made an annoying chore a fun and fruitful experience !
