My wife had her eye exam done there. That part was put thru our primary insurance. Correct! The lenses and frames should have been put thru Eye med. Instead they were put thru our primary insurance. The discount is significantly less thru our primary. That is why we have a secondary insurance for frames and lenses. When we told them about the mistake they said they put them thru Eye med. But they didn't. And refused to call and fix the issue. Gene said they were too busy to do that. And Sarah the receptionist is rude and has no people skills. Not the first time I have heard that. She probably would be better suited if she was a garbage collector picking up people's trash. You don't need people skills for that !
I've been going here for 20+ years, as well as my husband and kids. I have honestly had nothing but a great experience with Jeff, Gene and Sarah. Sarah is always awesome about helping the kids and I pick the best glasses for us and making sure we are using the most out of our insurance benefits. Can't recommend them highly enough.
The receptionist is very rude. Purchased glasses from here and the receptionist refused to let Gene fix them. Not sure why she still works there, maybe she has something on the doctors. So weird how she continues to get away with the rudeness.
I had a very disappointing experience with Rush Henrietta Opticians. Over a month ago, I visited to get my glasses. While the doctor was kind during the initial visit, the process of receiving my glasses and the behavior of the receptionist were unacceptable.
I was told my glasses would take about two weeks, but after waiting four weeks with no update, I called the office. The receptionist rudely asked, "Did you get a call from us?" in an unprofessional tone, implying that I shouldn't have called.
A few weeks later, I received a text notifying me that my glasses were ready and that I could pick them up Monday-Thursday, 9-6, with no mention of needing an appointment. When I went to pick them up, I called to confirm the office location. Instead of helping, the receptionist curtly asked if I had an appointment.
When I arrived, the receptionist slammed my glasses on the counter and started screaming at me. When I asked if I could try on my glasses to check for adjustments, she yelled that I couldn't and told me to leave. She even threatened to call the police if I didn't leave immediately. She then opened the door and loudly said, "Get out!" in front of others in the office.
She also called the doctor and asked him to remove me from the office. When the doctor came out, I told him I could wait for an adjustment, but he said he was busy with patients and that I needed to make an appointment to come back again. This could have easily been handled during my visit, but the receptionist's hostile behavior and the lack of accommodation made the entire experience unnecessarily stressful.
I do not recommend this place due to the rude and unprofessional customer service, especially the receptionist, who screamed at me, refused to assist, and escalated the situation unnecessarily. This experience was completely unacceptable.
Sarah was so kind and made me feel very comfortable while picking out my glasses. Definitely recommend here over any other place i've been. Not crazy expensive either!
Used to go there all the time and the service was excellent (15+ years). Recommended this business to several people we know. Due to a family emergency, we had to call the same day our appointment was and reschedule and after that everything changed. Sarah, the front desk person refuses to work with anyone in my family now and Gene has to take care of picking out the glasses, billing, checking out, and all the things she would normally do. She is incredibly short. It used to take 1 week to get a pair of glasses and this time it took 3. Coincidence? I see several reviews from folks that have the same thing to say about the receptionist. I can't believe that she still works there after seeing all the negative reviews.
My husband and I both were looking to order new glasses this year. A friend told us about Rush Henrietta Opticians with rave review. Jim made first appointment and couldn't be happier with his new glasses. The staff there are extremely knowledgeable, professional and friendly. Excellent selection of glasses with latest trends which they update every 3 months. Gene, the optician also told me about sunglass piece which you clip on the front of your glasses with small magnets which are barely noticeable. I love them, it looks like you have designer sunglasses on but you don't have to carry a second set of glasses when in sun. I've received many compliments on new glasses. It's refreshing to work with an expert in vision and glasses with many years experience. i would highly recommend this shop!
I had been going to them for 20+ years. Last year I called to get a new pair of glasses. In short, I asked the receptionist a sincere question about a policy I was unaware of, her tone became immediately rude and abusive.
I have never been treated like that in my life and I will not allow myself to be abused by her again which is too bad because Gene is the best!!
