I had such a great experience at Empire Visionworks! I originally had a pair of everyday glasses made back in July, but because I have a very small face, it's always been tricky to find frames that truly fit. The pair I purchased ended up being a bit too large, and I hadn't been happy with how they felt. When I stopped in yesterday to ask for a copy of my prescription -- as I was planning to go to Warby Parker and pay for a new pair -- the manager, Angela, was incredibly kind and gracious. She immediately offered to let me choose a new frame and even waived the fee to have a new pair made, even though I was slightly past their 100-day return policy. Angela, Goldeen, and Lori went above and beyond to make sure I left happy. Their professionalism, kindness, and genuine care are truly rare these days, and I can't thank them enough for turning a frustrating situation into a positive one. One note for Visionworks corporate: please consider expanding your selection of petite frames for adults. Those of us with smaller faces shouldn't have to shop in the children's section -- especially at 50 years old! A wider range of adult petite options would make a world of difference. Overall, I'm so appreciative of this team and will absolutely continue to come here for all my eye care needs. Highly recommend this location to anyone looking for great service and wonderful people!

I was very impressed by the prompt response to me walking through the door. Everyone seemed kind and reassured me. The wait would not be long. They took me right in and the doctor was very personable and showed interest in why I left a couple years ago and was grateful I came back . The ladies upfront even helped me make a decision on choosing glasses, which was greatly appreciated and what a great selection I got to choose from I would say my overall experience was wonderful. I would definitely recommend Visionworks

I scheduled my appointment a couple months ago. When I got in today I was told it was going to be telehealth. Angela at the front desk was very kind and talked to me about what that would entail for about 15 minutes and then she let me decide if I wanted to do that or reschedule to see one of the providers in person. I had stated that she had done a great job of explaining everything so we could go ahead since I was there. Ben did all of my tests and Dr. Roth did my telehealth visit and everything was spot on. I had gotten there at about 9:15 and left at about 10:15 and that was with everything including choosing and paying for my new glasses. They did a fantastic job.

It was my first time at Vision Works. I was very impressed how well organize it is. Dr Beth Sandy took the time with me and did all the tests to see how my eyes were. She explained everything in detail. She saw something in my eyes and she didn't make a rush decision but gave me a referral to see an eye specialist to see what they say. I like that in a doctor. I wasn't rush to pick out frames. The lady really helped me with that. I'm looking forward to dealing with Vision works in the future. Great job!!

Worst experience I've had in years. The equipment used to check your eyes/ do the exam isn't even clean. Everything is smudged. The Dr was rude and condescending. My prescriptions were wrong so I unfortunately had to go back. When I did I have never felt so disrespected and blamed. She even wanted me to bring home the glasses she messed up because I should've waited a week. Sorry ma'am I couldn't see nor drive in the condition the glasses gave me. I couldn't focus on anything and it was almost double vision. I have had many glasses over many years, I know what new glasses should feel like and this was just plain wrong. No, I didn't accept the mess ups. I am mainly upset over my treatment on how I was blamed and like I was stupid. Now I am waiting on the new prescription. Hopefully this one is actually right.

If you are lucky enough to be able to get an appointment at the Kingston, NY location , you should have a thorough and timely exam. After which one of the nice associates will skillfully handle your selection. All is done with a smile!

The staff is friendly and efficient. However, my appointment was at 12:15p. I saw a tech for the pre-test before you see a doctor. It's now 2:20p and I'm still waiting to see the eye doctor after my AI exam.

The only positive thing I can say about my experience here is the front desk staff are all very nice. My eyes are very bad. I have a very strong prescription with a lot of negatives in the prescription numbers. The exam given to me by the Dr took all of 3 minutes. When I asked questions related to my vision I was given the impression she was not interested in answering them. She began backing out of the door while I was still asking her to explain something to me. Then the real nightmare began. I picked out a couple frames. The "optician" Ken was of no help picking the frames. I asked him if the frames seemed to fit correctly and if they would be good for my prescription. All I got was a shoulder shrug and an answer of "sure". He took a measurement, put my information into the computer, and that was the extent of our interaction. When my glasses came in and I put them on I immediately knew something was not correct. According to the Dr my prescription had not changed. When I put the glasses on things were blurry and I had the fishbowl effect. Again I was paired up with Ken. When I voiced my concern I received a blank stare and was then asked, "so what do you want me to do"? After some reluctance he checked the placement of the progressive changes in the lenses. Still I felt something was wrong but I was told to bring them home and wear them and if they were still wrong to return tomorrow. (This all happened 5pm on a Friday - I'm assuming the hour before close is not a great time to ask this man to work) The next day I returned first thing in the morning. Again, I was placed with Ken who had no recollection of the conversation from the night before. With a little more chipper of an attitude we went through some more adjustments on the glasses. Still I was given the impression that he had no idea how to help me. The new solution was to send the glasses back and have them change where the progression sits on the lens. The glasses come in again - again there is something wrong. I am getting the fishbowl effect and it's effecting my depth perception. Again, I bring the glasses home and wear them for 8 hours to make sure it's not just an adjustment issue on my part. I end up with a raging headache and again the issue is not resolving. Back to the store I go. Again, I deal with Ken. Again he makes the same minor adjustments. Again, the glasses are not correct. I ended up going to a more reputable establishment in Kingston (Park Opticians). Within seconds of looking at the frames the optician there points out the problem. The frames themselves are awfully curved - causing the fishbowl problem that I had been complaining about since the beginning. The fit of the frames was completely wrong! The Dr who saw me at Park also noticed a small hole in my retina that the Dr at Visionworks completely missed. Needless to say I will not be returning here. I am actually cancelling my eye insurance because they only cover Visionworks. I would rather pay the expensive out of pocket prices in order to receive an accurate and thorough exam. Not to mention work with an optician who is not only competent but willing to do their job. I warn anyone who has a more serious eye issue or need for a stronger prescription to seek treatment elsewhere.
