I've been going to South Shore for years and the doctors have always been excellent. The only area that could use improvement is the reception/billing check-in experience. One of the young women at the front desk often comes across as if patients are inconveniencing her, which makes the check-in process less welcoming than it should be. A bit more friendliness at the front desk would make the overall experience much better."

My experience with Dr Shih was outstanding. She was highly recommended by many of my friends, so I went to her office to discuss my cataracts, that were already previously diagnosed. The office was incredibly efficient and quickly conducted multiple tests to determine the status of my eyes. Dr Shih was very knowledgeable and reassured my husband and me that cataract surgery would definitely correct my issues. Before we left, I had both eye procedures and their related appointments scheduled faster than I could have imagined. We were immeasurably pleased with the knowledgeable, professional, and courteous staff, and we are extremely confident with our decision to have Dr Shih perform my cataract surgeries.

I'm extremely disappointed with my experience at this vision office. The lack of communication was frustrating from start to finish. The staff was not welcoming or friendly, and I was sent running between multiple locations without anyone clearly explaining where my actual appointment was supposed to be.
After all of that confusion, I was then told they don't accept my insurance -- something that should have been clarified beforehand. As a result, I was unable to be seen to go over my results. I left the office with paperwork I couldn't even understand, since I'm not an eye doctor, and there was very little sympathy shown regarding the inconvenience and confusion they caused.
Overall, the experience felt disorganized and inconsiderate toward patients' time and concerns.
