phRETINA - Ophthalmology care

I have been seeing Dr. Hahn as my retina specialist for the last nine-plus years. At the time I initially went in to see him, it was an emergency situation where I was advised by my general ophthalmologist that I had an issue that likely would require immediate surgical intervention. When I first saw Dr. Hahn, I was extremely nervous, and his calm, confident manner immediately put me at ease (relatively speaking!) Prior to undergoing surgery, we discussed and he painstakingly explained why alternative treatments, such as with a laser, would not be appropriate for my specific condition. The surgery was successful. Shortly thereafter, Dr. Hahn performed another procedure on my other eye because of a tear. Again, he was very clear in explaining the procedure, what to expect prior to and afterwards, and the prognosis for success. I have been following up with Dr. Hahn every six months since that time. He has a gentle style that helps me stay calm, and even when something has changed, and his manner is not alarming. While he is not only a very competent retina specialist and surgeon, he is also very kind and patient. When Dr. Hahn's previous practice did not allow him the ability to contact his patients to advise that he was leaving, I luckily found him on the internet and am now a patient at his state of the art office in Nanuet. He is a phenomenal doctor, and I would not trust my eyes to anyone else.

Dr. Hahn is an excellent retina specialist. I was his patient for 4 years and he provided me exceptional medical care. Not only is he a competent doctor, he also is very caring and patient. He thoroughly explains everything and answers all of your questions. I highly recommend Dr. Hahn!

I saw Dr. Hahn in his new office. Staff member was welcoming, helpful and organized. My tests, prep and injection went extremely well. Dr. Hahn made me feel relaxed and comfortable. I can't say enough about my eye doctor, Dr. Paul Hahn. He is truly the best. When I experienced a detached retina, he saved my vision with his expertise, quick action, and unbelievable care. From the moment you walk in, he is supportive, kind, and genuinely caring. His bedside manner is exceptional -- he explains everything clearly, makes you feel comfortable, and treats you with the utmost respect and patience. I'm beyond grateful for the way he guided me through one of the scariest moments of my life. Thanks to him, I still have my sight. Dr. Paul Hahn is an excellent retina doctor for complex eye issues . He is very professional, kind, and gentle, and he truly cares about his patients. He takes the time to explain everything clearly and makes you feel comfortable during every visit. His knowledge and attention to detail are outstanding. Dr. Hahn treated me for macular degeneration for 9 years and only distance discontinued that relationship. In the time he treated me, I sent several people to him--they all flt as I did. He is everything you would want in a retina specialist (or any kind of specialist: Caring. Honest. Informative. Attentive in ways that few physicians are. He kept my vision strong and his positivity and skills helped keep me sane. I cannot recommend him enough. His amazing resume should is more than convincing but in practice he is just as impressive.

I have been very lucky and have had some excellent experiences with doctors; however, Dr. Hahn and his practice are by far the best I have encountered. I began the day panicked that I had the wrong place (due completely to self error). I called in, and spoke to Denneica. She was so sweet, kind, and patient while I figured out where to go. Once I made it, she performed the initial exam. She was professional while still maintaining that same level of friendliness she had shown over the phone, ensuring my comfort. Dr. Hahn's portion was the same. He is personable, knowledgeable, and professional. He made sure I understood everything, and at no time did I feel rushed, while at the same time, I never experienced the wait you get at other places. Dr. Hahn's and his practice is one of the rare ones where everyone is knowledgeable and passionate about what they do, but care just as equally about the people they are treating. I cannot say enough about Denneica and Dr. Hahn, and could not recommend the practice more.

Dr. Hahn is the simply very best retinal specialist. His bedside manner, medical knowledge, academic background and experience are outstanding and unparalleled. I particulary appreciated his conservative approaches and treatments. In the past few years, a number of highly recommended retina specialists had examined but without conclusive diagnosis and treatment plans for my retina conditions. Dr. Hahn at his previous practice has diagnosed the conditions correctly and been providing the follow up care.
