Dr. Mabel Cheng

I recently had eye surgery by Dr. Cheng to remove extra skin from my eyelids. I was quite apprehensive about having it done but sooooo glad I did. Dr. Cheng did an outstanding job and I couldn't be happier with the outcome! Thank you Dr. Cheng!

well, the doctors here are absolutely wonderful. Their staff is rude unaware of people's times and inconsiderate. They put you on hold for 10 to 15 minutes even when you were trying to cancel an appointment maybe they're understaffed or underpaid whatever it is the doctors would be well advised to make sure that their front desk staff understands how to run a medical practice

Dr Cheng is Amazing. I have had Cataract Surgery with her and now we are working on my dry eye and allergies affecting my eyes. Yes they do the allergy testing in the office and it is nothing like the normal allergy testing at a Allergist office. So Much better at Dr Cheng. Thorough and explains everything and shows you on her screen what she is referring to. Love Love this practice

The team that works with Dr. Mabel Cheng are the best. Dr. Cheng is an angel on earth. I recommend that if you need cataract surgery this is the place to go. Not only did she give me back the ability to see like I did in my 20's, the team is the kindest most friendly group of people I have had the pleasure taking care of me. From start to finish. Thank you all for making me feel like part of the family!!!

I am proud to have Dr Cheng as my eye doctor. She has done surgery on both of my eyes for cataracts and stigmatism. The results have been fabulous. Dr Cheng as been great at treating my condition, explaining my options, and answering my questions. I feel the Dr Cheng and the office have been very attentive to my care. I have had an excellent experience with all of the office staff. I have found the office staff to be professional, intelligent, and friendly. I would highly recommend Dr Cheng and this office for your eye care and eye surgery.

I've really appreciated the thoroughness of Dr. Cheng's office. I've had borderline high eye pressure readings for years and Dr. Cheng's office (and her optometrist who I saw first) are the first that took it seriously despite my age (most are older than 27 when glaucoma becomes a concern). Other eye professionals had chalked up the readings to thicker corneas, but Dr. Cheng's office pursued additional testing to map the nerves in my retina and make sure I wasn't developing glaucoma. It took some time to find an opening for the visual field test, but they were able to give me medication that would prevent progression of an issue in the meantime, so I didn't mind waiting. She worked with me when the first medicated drops were difficult to adhere to due to side effects and heavily suggested PREVENTATIVE measures. That's right, they caught some thinning of the nerves in my eye and urged me to treat it before I lose vision! I had concerns about surgery for something that hasn't happened yet, but she took the time to explain to me HOW the surgery worked to change the structure of my eye and the pros vs the (very minimal) risks. Everyone who was waiting with me on the day of the procedure were raving about how much they love Dr. Cheng and her staff were familiar with other patients, which was very reassuring that she's had patients stay with her so long and so many had positive experiences. I feel very lucky!

I think Dr. Cheng is brilliant, BUT her attitude and the encounters I've had with the reception desk has been PAINFUL. I've had 2 appointments a week a part so far to treat an eye infection, both appointments took 2 hours (plus an additional hour at the pharmacy waiting on a substitute prescription to be called in) and I saw Dr. Cheng for 5 minutes each of those times. 4 mins of which she was prescribing my treatments/medications. Just as anyone would do, I've had to call the office to get medications changed because my insurance didn't cover them, and that process was terrible. I want to preface that one of the receptionists had checked me out both appointments was lovely and very pleasant. She smiled and was just nice. The receptionist that I've spoken to on the phone was condescending, rude and acted like I was disrupting their time.. as a client. I had to repeat this process over for my 2nd appointment and had to call into the office for 2 days to check to see if my substitute prescription was being called in and if the Dr. was going to return my calls (called once in the morning and once in the afternoon the day after my appointment and again once in the morning today when I still had not been contacted). I cancelled my follow up appointment since I had not started the new treatment which was it's sole purpose. I finally got a call this morning (Appointment was Wed. and today is Friday) - Dr. Cheng was incredibly rude and said, "YES?!" as if I had been a burden, not even addressing my messages I left with the receptionist. I explained to her the situation and she said they called in the prescription yesterday (I Called my pharmacy and they said they received it this morning, so a lie). She also said that if I don't see her to check progress, I would lose my eye. Never during my appointments did she tell me that it was serious, in fact in my last appointment she said it was 50% better. So she instilled fear mongering rather than talking to me and explaining her thoughts on my progress. I can't speak for Dr. Lemanski - that is who I has initially wanted because of her reviews, but she was booked solid and an eye infection can't wait. My husband is a doctor, and I've never met any doctors that spoke or treated patients this way. Nothing I've done is out of the ordinary and it really makes me sick that these instances happened. This practice needs to practice social and human etiquette. The receptionist didn't even pronounce my name right which really pushes forth how I'm nobody to them. They need a Physician's Assistant or a nurse very badly so they can handle these calls when the doctor is with patients all day. I hope other new patients have better experiences than I did. I unfortunately have to go back again, I'm hoping the next visit is better. I also had planned on switching to their optometrist but cancelled that appointment, so unfortunately that doctor lost out on a new client. EDIT: I stand by my original review, but I just had an appointment with Dr. Lemanski for my 3rd follow up. WOW is she an INCREDIBLE, well-rounded doctor. I had an appointment in the morning, which I highly recommend. I was in and out within an hour. Everyone has been always pleasant and nice in person and it remained that way. Dr. Lemanski took a proper amount of time to go over my symptoms, took a thorough look at my eyes, and provided useful and interesting feedback specific to my case. When I addressed my concerns she was both empathetic and direct, letting me know what my limits were and why. She was professional and personable, and I'm sure her brilliance carries over to her surgeries. I would recommend Dr. Lemanski 10/10 times as well as making a morning appointment with the practice if you can make it. Thank you to the office staff that made my visit enjoyable!

My husband has been a patient of Dr. Cheng since 2008 & I have since 2013. We totally respect Dr. Cheng and very much appreciate her professionalism and concern for her patients. On several occasions, on weekends & after office hours, Dr. Cheng and her staff have promptly responded to our medical concerns & continued with follow up calls to us. Dr. Cheng has performed cataract and lens replacement surgeries for both of us and we would highly recommend Dr. Cheng and her practice. Chic & Hal Rathbun
