RRH Eye Care

Buyer beware. I want to start by saying the doctor and staff themselves were very nice. However, our experience with the eyeglasses and insurance information was extremely concerning. When it came time to purchase glasses for my daughter, who has Excellus CHP, I was told that her insurance would not cover any portion of the frames or lenses unless she selected a specific "cheap" pair that was 100% covered. My daughter has been on this policy for years, and I have never been told this before. I also work for a Medicaid managed care insurance company, so this immediately raised red flags for me. I was told by the RRH employee, I could pay out of pocket and submit for reimbursement myself if I believed the coverage information was incorrect. I found this response unprofessional. As a participating provider contracted with Excellus, RRH should bill the insurance directly. A member should never be expected to self-pay and "member bill" their plan due to incorrect benefit interpretation. I declined the purchase and contacted our insurance directly to verify the benefits. Excellus confirmed that her plan does cover the lenses in full and does cover a portion of the frames even if they are not from the 100% covered selection. This experience was disappointing and frustrating, and I strongly encourage others to verify their benefits independently before purchasing.

Don't go here. Bad customer service- been a customer for 20 years and they cancelled my appointment without letting me know. Rochester Regional Health has ruined this place. I'm out. I'd advise against them.

I really enjoyed Dr. Deely, however the Reed Eye Practice is so difficult to keep regular annual eye exams, always being at least 5 months out to make an appointment (which as a contact wearer makes it very difficult). They also are not able to schedule an appointment when you have your annual check up (like the dentist does). They don't let their patients know in advance or try to help set up regular eye appointments - it really feels like they don't care about you our your eye health, it is certainly not a partnership to health.

Been a patient for many years. Had an infection in my eye and called the office to be able to get in to see a physician. The Pittsford office will be closed for a week for some software updates. A phone # was given through the recording for emergency issues which mine was. Called the number and left 2 messages last Friday and till today which is Sunday still waiting for a caring call from a physician. Absolutely horrible and unprofessional medical service. Please consider finding another eye care which will be more patient friendly and professional.

I have MS. I had to keep apologizing for my MS. Then he wrote on my after report "patient was falling asleep and not cooperative ". Well I had to take a klonpin before I brush my teeth so I don't knock them out. Both my front teeth are chipped and one is loose. The dr. Deeley ( not sure of spelling) was very arrogant. I won't be back!!!!! No one should have to apologize for their illness!!!!!!!!!

Great experience and very satisfied with results of my cataract removal/surgery performed by Katie Macaluso, MD. Katie and technician, Sarah Marconi chose the perfect lens replacement for me. My vision is outstanding ! Credit to her support team; anesthesiologist, nurses at Westfall Surgery Center and followup vision exams from Douglas Williams. Thank you !

I switched to Reed because my previous eye doctor's office was difficult to get a timely appointment with, even for routine eye care. I am very happy with Reed. Everyone has always been friendly, professional and helpful. I recently broke my glasses ( my fault), and as they were under warranty, they quickly ordered replacement frames, did a temporary repair on my glasses so I could wear them while waiting for the replacement frames to arrive, which was less than a week. Couldn't be happier with Reed!

This was my first visit and I must say I felt very welcomed from my first step in the door.All staff members were very friendly and helpful. I saw Dr Trivedi and I must say he was the best. He was very compassionate and made certain I understood all the aspects of my exam!! Then I meant Scott who helped me pick out my new glasses. What a gentleman. He explained all the things that make a perfect set of glasses without any pressure to purchase any extras. Excellent experience and would highly recommend Reed Eye !!!!!!!!
