My Doctor had sent me to an ophthalmogist as I had not been to an eye doctor in quite a while and I was due for a check up & prescription. That was done and I decided to take my prescription to Visionworks in Slingerlands Price Chopper plaza.
I am so glad that I picked Visionworks. I had no appointment. I told the gentleman at the desk thatvI needed a prescription filled for eye glasses & he said I came to the right place. We chatted a bit about my insurance & I saw they had a special to buy one pair & the second pair would be one half off.
He told me to pick out the lenes I liked and the young woman would be with me shortly. By the time I had picked out a few that I liked. She was ready for me. She was very helpful and nice. I ended up ordering 2 pairs & was delighted with the price. Especially since my insurance had a coupon that I used to send in & get reimbursed a few bucks.
I didn't mean this review to be so long but I just want everyone to know how very friendly, helpful and courteous all the staff were. It was a very pleasant experience for me. I can't wait to pick up my new glasses!

The staff here was extremely supportive. Understating insurance benefits can always be challenging but staff were extremely knowledgeable about utilizing everything available the help me and my wife get what we needed and wanted. I recently had an issue with a weld that broke on one of my frames, a quick review of my account and insurance and he was grabbing new frames from the wall a screwdriver and had me fixed and on my way in no time. These people understand customer service!
I had an appt here & it was phenomenal. The actual doctor wasn't on site so it was a tele health visit but the staff is great!
Sage- did my exams & he was so kind & patient.
Matt- explained the pricing & some add ons but wasn't pushy & very accommodating. I really enjoyed this visit & appreciated the kindness shown!

This would be my first and last time coming here the lady named Leanne Joanne she is an older heavyset lady with blonde hair was extremely unpleasant!!!!. She carried an attitude through every encounter she had with everyone I seen while waiting for my appointment. She does not have a welcoming demeanor she looks and speaks at you as if you came into her home bothering her . She should not be working in customer service AT ALL!!! Let alone greeting ppl when they walk in with that disgusting energy. As I type this I am waiting for 20 mins past appointment time, had it been the other way around they would have cancelled my appointment, I'm afraid to get up and ask what's going on cause I could already see what type of lady I'll have the conversation with and it can go left quickly.they have tele health doctors so be prepared to wait almost an HOUR !!!! This is ridiculous don't come here unless you have time to waste !!
Don't trust any of the positive reviews. This location has had a severe deterioration of quality of service in recent years. The staff are nice, but when it comes to taking routine measurements that ensure that glasses fit properly on someone's face, they miss the mark. They made glasses for me without measuring key fit factors including pupillary distance, optical center, vertex distance, pantoscopic tils and wrap. When I received the glasses, of course I could not see properly. Glasses were remade but the lenses had coating and lens defects that created a sharp pain in my eyes. Upon inspection of the lenses at the store, they were sent back to be remade. After getting a third pair of glasses that I could not even read out of (nothing on a computer screen and nothing on my phone), I once again returned the glasses but this time I asked for a full refund of all services and materials. Customer service put me in contact with the regional director for the store. He authorized that I recieve a full retraction of benefits back to my insurance so I can get glasses. At this point, it had been six months. However, when my insurance called to verify the store manager told them despite the approval of the regional director, he was going to be insubordinate and not refund the exam. I called customer service, they saw the notes on my case and confirmed I had received authorization to be refunded so I could start the process of obtaining glasses with a different optical store. Since I need measurements to ensure that my glasses function as expected, I need the place making my glasses to give a comprehensive exam since those measurements are considered part of exams. Customer service had me speak to their managed vision department. The managed vision department escalated a request through back channesl that I receive a full refund for materials AND services. When I called a week later Visionworks customer told me that I should now be able to get an exam. However, when my insurance called to confirm, they told them they had not handled any request for a full retraction. So I called immediately thereafter and they told me yes, we have processed the request and all services and materials have been returned. When I called the insurance on three way to let them hear this information, the customer service person changed his messaging and said wait only materials have been approved no exam, we have to submit a new process for retracting the exam. This is after he already told me it was fully refunded. Currently, I have gone more than 7 months without glasses due to these issues and the crueltly and insubordination of the manager at this branch. I have come to the store for decades. It's not my fault they were not able to make my glassess properly. Preventing me from being able to get the service I need to ensure proper eyesight is inhumane. The exam they are fighting me over costs $60 to my insurance but is $100 or more to pay for it out of my own pocket. I want everyone to know that this is the customer service Vision Works gives to a loyal customer of 20 plus years. No apology, no empathy, no concern that I have been living life without being able to see well for 7 months because I don't have good glasses. Anyone who has insurance that only allows for one pair knows this struggle. If the old pair needs replacing, it needs to happen quickly. I've been living with poor sight for more than half a year because I went to vision works and trusted them. Visionworks customer service is still putting me through a lot because I now have to allow MORE TIME to pass for either the regional director to intervene or the managed vision department to go through a paperwork process that normally takes up to 14 days, but they will "try" to expedite it. Based on this timeline, it could take another month or two of trying to get my benefits reinstated, which could result in up to 9 months without glasses. Currently, it has been 7 months of back and forth with Visionworks. For 7 months, I was patient and didn't even write a negative review. BUYER'S BEWARE
My last eye exam was 4 years ago and prior to the telehealth remote doctor experience they've instituted when their in-person doctor is not available. I was quite apprehensive to try this, but couldn't wait any longer. Even though there was a technical glitch that IT fixed within a few minutes, this was a great experience and I enjoyed talking with the tech and the doctor who came on screen. It was as if they were in the room with me. Prior to the actual exam, check-in and the pre-screening process was seamless. All employees I came in contact with at this store were professional, courteous and timely throughout my visit. I plan to come back again, sooner than 4 years.
I've been coming here for 5 years or so now, and while the amount of time I spend waiting around to be seen is rather obnoxious, the optometrist is friendly and efficient, and the opticians are great to interact with. They also accept my insurance (Davis Vision) and are able to apply the benefits to both contacts and glasses.
Glasses are fine but was told they would contact me when ready, they never did. I called and was referred toservice which kept saying in three days. Went to the shop and found the glasses had been there for 22 days. no conection between corporate and local shop.
