While sitting in waiting room you can hear the receptionists talking rudely about other patients. Then you have a scheduled appt and if you are 5 minutes late you need to reschedule but it is okay for them to make you sit and wait for over an hour to be seen. Your staff should not be talking about patients so others can hear them unprofessional.

Would give 0 if could, watch out they say they take insurance but they bill you in full. Will never go back there Dr. Pokabla told me I was going to go blind and thanked me for coming in about 5x and did nothing that my actual eye dr sent me for to have done. As well as other posts there is a very rude receptionist (no name tag) but if you do go here you will hear her on the phone with people or in person.

I've been with a family member who was referred to Dr Pokabla by her ophthalmologist. Yes, be prepared to wait 1-2.5 hours from appt time to leaving. However, that said, the staff were all professional and quite knowledgeable. It's a friendly atmosphere. While with the doctor, he took his time, was gentle & understanding, and made sure my family member's questions/concerns were addressed. Yes, maybe a long wait but the care is quite exceptional from both staff and doctor. I would highly recommend because I think exceptional care is worth the wait.

Although I may be one of the youngest patients here at only 26, I am a regular patient at this facility. I've had glaucoma for many years. Before becoming a patient of Dr.Picobla the pressure in both of my eyes was over 30. Now I have a daily average pressure around 20. Recently, I had a change of employment which caused many issues between my insurance and prescription availability. As you can imagine any change in insurance causing difficulty receiving prescription is beyond a stressful experience. Not only do I receive great care from Dr. Picobla himself, his staff are ALL also wonderful beings. Specifically, I would like to shout out miss Rebecca! During my nightmare of insurance change I was unable to pick up my prescription from the pharmacy. Rebecca offered and delivered a sample to my mailbox while I was at work without hesitation. These staff members are without a doubt a golden crew!

Dr Pokabla is fantastic. He's been helping my mother with her glaucoma- so far she's had one eye surgery and is hoping to schedule her second. Everyone at this practice has been sooo nice. Highly recommend this practice and especially this doctor.

I could not be more positive in considering my experience with the Glaucoma Consultants practice. The members of the medical technician staff are friendly and upbeat yet professional and have always been ready and able to answer any questions that I might have. And Dr. Pokabla is a very special medical professional. His approach always leaves me feeling that he personally cares about me and my situation. He listens to any concerns and always responds in a genuine, helpful manner. Of all the interactions I have had with medical professionals over the course of my life, I can truthfully say that no one has left me with a more positive impression than Dr. Pokabla. I always feel very fortunate when I leave their offices.

I want to thank every staff member and doctor at Glaucoma Associates of the Capital Region. Since January of this year each and every person has been responsive to my many needs and has treated me with the utmost concern. They are true professionals who possess a wealth of knowledge. To all of the staff who answer the phones and to the technicians who perform many of the exams and act as liaisons to the doctors, I thank you for always being pleasant, upbeat, helpful, reassuring and informed. You have made what I thought to be an impossible situation, manageable. It is apparent that the staff's diligence and compassion reflect the values of the wonderful doctors.

I highly recommend this place. Dr. Pokabla is top notch. I came to him with an emergency and he and his student could not do enough to make sure I was okay. A lot of people complain about the wait time, but it's worth it. He spends time with his patients and doesn't rush them out. A+++ practice
