My dog and I absolutely love Dr. Cho and her staff! They are so kind and patient which puts my untrusting rescue at ease. VES has been amazing getting us thru the situation we're facing with our pup.

Dr. Schmidt provided the best care possible for my 2 year old setter with an ulcerated cornea. She is extremely intelligent, compassionate and her communication skills are exceptional! We have the utmost confidence in this doctor . The staff (Chris and Cori) were outstanding. Answered multiple questions with patience and clarity. The clinic is the best veterinary practice we have ever experienced !

Dr. Cho has been treating my rescue dog Niko for 15 years. He was born with very bulging eyes, lids didn't close causing dry eye syndrome along with very limited eye sight. She performed tear testing at every visit along with other specialties to help prevent further disease and maintain what little eye sight he had left. His eyes became a magnet for hair and dirt necessitating eye washes and ointment. She actually took the time to show me how to wash his eyes and use a q tip to remove debris while educating me how to get the job done right . This process which can take up to 15 minutes demonstrates such compassion and dedication. She's in no rush to get you or your dog out of the exam room! She's just the best ever! Staff Cory and Chris and the many vet techs are also amazing. You can tell they love their jobs and animals. As I mentioned in the beginning he was there 15 yrs I adopted him when he was 2. Sadly I had to put him to sleep Age got the best of my sweet boy. Dr Cho and staff each wrote a note on his sympathy card! So gracious snd heart felt they filled the entire card. Sorry this is so long Just need to let other pet owners there's no better place to go.

I took my Bella Mia here as a puppy to see Dr. Cho back in 2012. Dr. Cho did an amazing job with her cherry eye (she had them in both!) and her eyes have been beautiful since. Recently we took Bella back for an ulcer on her eye. Bella's ulcer has healed. Dr. Schmidt was wonderful with Bella. Everyone at this office is amazing. Thank you for taking care of my fur baby.

I wish I could do more than give a 5-star review to Dr. James Gaarder and his amazing staff. Dr. Gaarder SAVED my dog's eye and we are so beyond thankful for his help and guidance on treating her. I called the office hysterically crying because another doctor prescribed medications that made my dog's eye significantly worse and I didn't know who to turn to - Sarah, the angel of this office, stayed on the line with me and listened to everything I said so kind and patiently. Sarah told us to rush in and our Emma would be seen on an emergency case. We drove all the way to their office from Staten Island and Dr. Gaarder was informative on her condition, treatment, and roadmap to her full recovery. He explained everything to us to where we could understand fully and he was also very kind and careful with our little girl. They prescribed medications with clear instructions throughout Emma's recovery and we were able to bring her in for checkups, noticing positive gradual results each week. Emma's eye is now 100% better - she made a full recovery and if we waited any longer she would have lost her right eye. Sarah, thank you so much for helping us and letting us come in immediately. Words cannot describe how amazing you are, and also to all of the staff members, technicians, and of course Dr. Gaarder for saving our baby girl. Emma developed an ulcer, was prescribed a steroid which led the ulcer to get worse, and it developed into a Corneal Stromal Abscess. Her eye was completely cloudy, full of pus and she could not open her eye at all.. Photos may be a bit uncomfortable for some to see, but each photo is a week apart to her full recovery.

Dr Cho and the staff are all incredible. Caring, patient and professional. Everything you want when dealing with your pet. I can't recommend this place enough. Jackson is thriving thanks to them.

I had such a great experience with VES. I brought my kitty, Phoebe in with a severe eye ulcer that refused to heal for months. I work at an animal hospital myself so believe me when I say I tried everything before coming to see Dr. Schmidt. The whole staff is friendly and professional and Dr. Schmidt quickly diagnosed my girl with a corneal sequestrum. Phoebe underwent surgery and has healed beautifully with no complications during or after. Thank you VES!!! You helped my best girl and I'll forever be grateful.

I've been bringing my cat here for his eye issues for about a year now, always able to get an appointment the wait times are minimal, the doctors and the staff are very caring and have helped my cat with his issues I would definitely recommend these doctors to my friends and family , I drive all the way from New Jersey and it is worth it!!
