Fantastic experience with this place! Super nice staff makes you feel right at home. Excellent service where the friendly staff talks to you, not at you or down to you. Super fast getting me in and out, and I received my frames and lenses well within reasonable time. This was my first experience, but I will definitely be returning. Great local place in west seneca. The kind of small and attentive business you want in your neighborhood. 100 percent satisfied and definitely recommend this place if you're looking for a family friendly optician.

Ive been coming here since 2008 and up until recently, was satisfied. Last pair of glasses the nose piece broke as did the tiny screw in the arm of the side that goes behind your ear within 6 months. All I wanted to do is use same prescription lenses and get new frames and would have paid whatever the cost was. The lady at the front desk who I never saw before told me I would need an exam first because it's been 2 years. This was in November last year. I asked her when my last exam was and it was November and said my prescription 'expired'. Mine you I also have a dig mark on the side of my nose because of these glasses. Her unprofessional and condescending attitude cost you a long time good customer. I don't know her name but I remember her face which also screamed miserable. What a disappointment. Get rid of her and I may consider returning.

One of the guys there that does part of the eye exam (Jared) treated me like I was a grade school child. It was insulting. He was kind of weird, but other than that, my experience there was ok.

I've been going to Council Opticians since 1991( when I faked an eye exam bc my whole family had glasses but me) I got busted and didn't need them until 8th grade. I've gotten glasses & contacts from here. Along with my daughter and my husband. Yes, prices are different at every place you go but I don't want cheap garbage from Walmart. I go here bc I've always had a great experience with the owner & his staff. If there ever was a minor set back - things have always been taken care of in a timely manner. I highly recommend Council Opticians! Also depending on the glasses you pick, how many adjustments you have had, how you treat your glasses etc will determine how long they last. Please don't blame others for your bad day and how you mishandled your glasses. I have messed up my own glasses with hairspray and that's 110% on me* I would never blame the staff for my bad judgement while quickly getting ready for work.

If you are reading this review, please note that on my very first visit to Council Opticians, I was extremely impressed. I was able to get in for a last minute appointment and I loved the doctor that did my exam. Definitely a 4 star office.
However, recently there has been a lack of positive customer service where an office staff employee hung up on someone that was trying to help get my prescription transferred to BJs optical department. Thank you though to the Council Optician employee that took the additional time to resend my prescription to BJs optical department. I understand it was probably cumbersome to resend but know that I very much appreciate it.

Incredible staff. We had a hard time finding somewhere that would accept our son's insurance, and were thankful for the kind receptionist at this site. She called ahead to our insurance for approval and was extremely kind. Highly recommend.

Whomever the lady is who was working today (Saturday) was extremely disappointing. I went in to pick up my husband's contacts (he had ordered them ahead of time and they were ready to be picked up.) The woman working was not at all friendly, actually bordering on rude, and come to find out, she only gave me contacts for ONE of his eyes! He needs both, obviously, and this has caused a huge problem because he needs them for tomorrow morning (Sunday, when you're closed.) It has been a horrible experience from start to finish today. I do not wear glasses so I'm not familiar with the practices and procedures at an optician's office, nor did I think to look to make sure I had contacts for both eyes...one would think this is kind of a given. This woman works at Council Opticians - how does she not know to give contacts for both eyes?!?!
Very dissatisfied with the entire experience today.
